Harold, Black Market and Possesion

Not sure what I didn't understand.

I played BM while possessing my opponent. I bought Harold out of the BM deck. I over paid $2.

I wasn't sure if that would let me stack my deck or his deck. I thought both would be a good play.

Instead nothing happened at all.

Is that the right implementation? Is so why?

If it's not the correct implementation, what is?

I think nothing happening is definitely wrong.

When using Possession, you possess your opponent until the end of their draw phase, and see their next hand, so I would think Herald would allow you to mess with their deck, not yours.

You're positive their discard pile had cards?  Herald can only take from the discard, not from in play.

It should let you stack your opponent's deck.  Herald's overpay effect is on buy: the possessing player bought it, the Possession funkiness comes in when they try to gain it.

In case I'm off on the ruling, here's a picture.

I played BM while possessing my opponent. I bought Harold out of the BM deck. I over paid $2.

So as to not be confused by Possession, remember that it's their turn, not yours.

So instead, "My opponent played BM when possessed by me. My opponent bought a Herald from the BM deck, overpaying by $2" etc.

As for the question, I agree that it's the opponent's deck and discard pile that should be messed with. A good opportunity to dig out some Estates from that discard pile.

I'm guessing your opponent's discard pile was empty. However, this wouldn't be the first time that Goko doesn't handle Possession correctly. It also handles Possessions played on possessed turns incorrectly.

Are you sure? I am pretty sure it's okay....

If you're Possessing your opponent and you make them play Possession, they should Possess you. If Goko were getting that wrong, it would be incredibly broken.

I think it gets some of the turn orders incorrect when playing Possession on Possession turns.

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I felt like I should clarify. If you Possess your opponent and play Possession on your Possession turn, your opponent should immediately get a chance to Possess you once your Possession turn is done, after which your opponent should get his normal turn. Instead, it gives him his normal turn after you finish Possessing him, and then he Possesses you. So it should be:

1. Player A's turn
2. A Possesses B
3. B Possesses A
4. Player B's turn

But instead, Goko does:

1. Player A's turn
2. A Possesses B
3. Player B's turn
4. B Possesses A
