Playtesters needed - Making a Treasure Hunt
« on: February 09, 2015, 04:29:29 pm »

So its my birthday soon and I shall be *COUGH COUGH*

I am intending to write a little treasure hunt/train/whatever thing for a group of friends around London.

Basically I need people to try out the puzzles, suggest a new type of Puzzle (i am one short) and basically chip in with ideas.

I'd say it is 75% done.

So first off, some feedback:
If you were to take part in a Treasure hunt where you followed a series of clues across London:
How long would you like it to take (So Im looking for a variable here, quickest time possible, and longest reasonable time)
How many different puzzles/stops?
How far would you think is a reasonable distance to cover? (Via Walking, but there will be some hot tube action)

Final Draft

Yes definitely!

Its nearly done and I need someone to do a bit of a walkthrough, solve the puzzles (you may need to use a bit of google maps for the specific locations)

The story text isn't finished yet, but thats the last thing I'll do.

This was the opening Facebook message I sent out before all the actual invites:

My Dear Friends, I need your help!

My dear friend and fellow scientist Dr Algernon Winstanley III has gone missing!

If you have been following recent news you may have seen us being lauded by the scientific community for our impending breakthrough.
However upon turning up to the lab this morning I found the place ransacked and no sign of Algie anywhere. On searching the lab, I found an envelope stuffed under the Particle Accelerator addressed to myself. Which, when opened gave me much cause for grave concern.
And so in my desperation I have been recommend to approach outside help, you and your team of vaunted detectives have a big reputation of being able to solve strange cases. Hopefully the envelope will provide you with enough clues to follow Dr Algernon's trail across London and track down where he has gone, or at the very least retrieve vital information that he was in possession of that is also nowhere to be found.

I cannot reveal any more at the moment I have no idea who is watching, but I have set a date for this hunt which will take you across the suburbs of Inner London for my birthday, the 11th of April 2015, and hope you can attend to bring your expert hunting to bear on this problem. I will of course reward you handsomely should you be the first to solve the mystery.
Rest assured more information will be forthcoming very shortly.

Yours Hopefully
Dr Alex Andrews PhD
