How come I've lost this one?
Is it just really good Moat luck for my opponent, or he had superior strategy?
I mean, you don't ignore Hag here, right?

With Cultist out there I'd certainly skip Hag, but far more problematic is your T1 Moat after you've seen your opponent get Island with $4, so you know he won't be getting Sea Hag anytime soon. At that point you don't even want a free Moat in your deck, let alone get it over Silver.

Normally you can't win against a cursing attack with a moat and a few islands. So what happened here? There was constant removal of cards from your opponents deck with the hovel, island, and spice merchant and this meant the deck cycled fast and stayed at a defensible size. That sort of tight defense can unravel quickly when bad turns cause cumulative damage so your opponent was probably lucky with the moats and had some first player advantage. In the mean time you'd taken a moat that you didn't need and put the spice merchant with cultists (and that's just a mismatch). This gave you a misfiring economy throughout the game and let your opponent finish off with a couple of gold and then provinces.
