I backed at the $50 level and m unsure if I will have to use one of the new keys in order to access my additional features or if they become available automatically later. Currently my feature set is no different than those I had with the free alpha key given here.

I read a statement from one of the devs regarding this. Someone had asked a similar question because they had backed on multiple levels and wondered if the rewards were tied to specific keys. They aren't. So you should get appropriate rewards for your tier applied to your account when they start handing them out.

Mechanically, the additional features will be distributed in the same way as the keys, so you'll activate them by pasting a code into a box somewhere in the account of your choice.

I think you are going to have more luck at the prismata sub-reddit than here, but who knows. There are frequent key giveaways over there.
