Hello everyone!

I'm new to this forum, after stumbling upon this post where members were talking about Prismata, a new online competitive strategy game made by the company I work for!

We've recently opened up alpha access to people supporting our Kickstarter campaign, but we also love raising awareness by giving out keys to people like you guys. Both our devs and a lot of our playerbase love Dominion, as there are a lot of similarities with our game. In fact, the earliest iteration of Prismata was codenamed MCDS (Magic/Chess/Dominion/Starcraft) in honor of the games that inspired it.

About Prismata:

Like Dominion, players in Prismata take turns purchasing "cards" using various resources. In addition to a base set of units available every game, each new game is fresh thanks to a randomly-generated pool of purchasable units. Instead of competing for victory points, you try to defeat your opponent by building a superior army. You hold your whole deck in your hand and you're only limited by the resources that your economy can generate. In this way, it's a bit like a Starcraft build-order competition with no micro and no RNG elements. This video will give you a good idea of what playing Prismata feels like:



Since launching the Kickstarter, we have around 300 people online at any given moment playing against our AI and each other in the automatcher.

I haven't used my alpha key yet, played the offline demo for hours though.  I HAD to figure out how to beat master bot.  I did it eventually.

Still can't figure out the countdown puzzle but that's whatever.

I heard about this Prismata thing from Reddit.  I got to playing the demo and have been loving it! (That is, I have been loving it since I figured out how to actually win a game against the master bot...)  It's been a lot of fun and I would to get some alpha access, and see how much better real people are than the AI!

To everyone enjoying the game, consider supporting it on kickstarter. There's less than a week to go in the campaign and they're still short of their goal. Considering how much support and praise the game has been getting, I doubt a failed kickstarter would kill it, but I'd rather the game get funding sooner rather than later.

As a note -- I'm red-green colorblind, and I can't tell the lines on the endgame econ/damage graphs apart at all. Is there a color toggle somewhere I'm missing, or is that a planned feature?

I bet if you filed a bug request in game (the Feedback button), they'd figure something out pretty quick, especially if you left a suggestion like "dashed vs solid" or whatever the usual thing is. Colorblindness is something it's easy to forget to design around, but there are enough colorblind people that it's pretty important not to.

Just checked it out this afternoon. Made it through the puzzle and hard bot first try, but lost to master and then was reminded that I'm actually supposed to be studying for finals. I would be interested in an alpha key if you're still giving them out. It will give me something to do instead of what I'm supposed to over winter break

I mean, I'm not sure if it's the proxy, firewall, or that they don't have the ports open... I just know they block a lot of game servers because they don't have a ton of bandwidth.  Hearthstone for example only works sometimes, and usually not at all.

I think the correct solution here is to find a school with a less-shitty internet connection.

This is one of the solutions I was thinking of. Is this a high school or college? It sounds like a college given that you aren't getting back home till wednesday. A college really should have high enough bandwidth to handle such things. That's just pretty silly.

Another solution I was thinking of was a VPN or proxy. Hola is a browser extension that is quite good if you're comfortable with the privacy aspects (I am, but I will let you make your own decisions). There are other VPN/proxy services, but they're usually not as fast or paid. You can also set up your own VPN through ssh to a home computer if you're tech savvy and have a robust password.

It's college, but there are the same number of students here as there were at my high school... so it's small.  And I'm not finding a different school with one semester left   The internet has gotten better over the last 4 years though and they have started to open more ports.  Like they just recently got the Wii-U working.  My roommate is smashing online right now...

I read a statement from one of the devs regarding this. Someone had asked a similar question because they had backed on multiple levels and wondered if the rewards were tied to specific keys. They aren't. So you should get appropriate rewards for your tier applied to your account when they start handing them out.

Mechanically, the additional features will be distributed in the same way as the keys, so you'll activate them by pasting a code into a box somewhere in the account of your choice.
