parsing throug the logs it does not seem to happen more often than expected, probably you just notice it more when it happens.
But Awaclus has a point, what do you need a Moneylender for when you have a Chapel, the ML should run out of steam pretty fast? Also, you need some cards to get you economy back up when you open Chapel, with luck Moneylender can give you that in the short-time, but pretty fast it's a dead card itself.  And trashing one Copper more the first turns is not so important, the Chapel will eat them anyway eventuelly.

Also Chapel trashing will make your opening buys collide more often than they would otherwise.
