This thread has only 1 page. Doesn't everyone always click the "all" link when opening this thread?

I think there's a "like to live dangerously" meme for that...

Game of Thrones Season 1 spoiler...  https://i.imgur.com/NElxAR0.png

Should I have just embedded this even though it's technically a spoiler?

We've all heard of the Village Idiot, but what other misplays are there in the world of Dominion?

Feodumbass - Buys Feodum on a board with no gainers, +Buy, or trashing.
Scoutcast - My baby don't mess around with Scout, 'cuz I know for sure that this card is bad.  The Scoutcast isn't so hip to the meta.
Sir Miser - If the goal of the game were to have the most Copper on your Tavern Mat, Sir Miser would be the champion.
Ducat List - +5 Buys and you still only made $7 on your last turn...
Mineumint to Folly - Just think of all those Gold I can Mint!  I just need to buy one to replace the one I just trashed first...
Tunnelcake - So your plan was that you were going to cross your fingers and hope to draw two Tunnels and your Count every shuffle.  Ok.
Lost in Transmutation - There's a reason ScarJo won't play Dominion with Bill Murray anymore.

Highway to Hell - Gets what amounts to a bunch of expensive Poachers as there's no +Buy.
Cellar Dweller - So should I discard the Cellar to the Cellar, or should I keep it in case this Cellar draws another Cellar I want to discard? I wouldn't have bought so many of these, but I had a lot of junk...
Prince and the Pauper - Gets Prince on impulse without even checking if there are any good $4 or less cards.
Settler for Less - Opponent grabs all of Bustling Villages because you spent all your time trying to uncover them instead of building a good deck.
Trader to the Cause - Now how do I get rid of the Silvers?
Das Capital - Debt is scary but I really need the +Buy.
Wolf Den in Sheep's Clothing - Hey, I can win by a point if I also buy an Estate...

Why-house: Like Cellar Dweller, but with Warehouses.
Charity Worker: Buys Bishop solely for trashing.
"Get Rich Quick" Victim: Tries to get Golds with unsupported Transmutes or Treasure Maps instead of building up economy to just buy them.

And some broader categories:
Rat King: Always plays as many action cards as possible, even if they're likely to do more harm than good.
Try Everything: Buys some of every Kingdom card without any coherent plan to use them together (or variety rewarders).
Easy Reader: Ignores any cards with too much text, regardless of how simple they are in practice ("I have $5 and need more draw. I hear Journeyman is good for draw, but I can't be bothered to read all that text, so I'll just get a Smithy instead.").
The Berserker: Solely focused on playing as many Attacks as possible, ignoring things like greening and non-Attack payload (since those slow down the Attack engine).  Because if I hit you with 8 Spy attacks per turn and you never score a hit on me, that means I'm winning, right?

Gone Meta - Salvage your Salvager.  Warehouse your Warehouse.  Remodel your Remodel.  Chapel your Chapel.  Sage your Sage.  Island your Island.  Junk Dealer your Junk Dealer.  Sometimes, using a card on itself is a sign that you're not playing optimally.
Forever A Throne - (Stolen from the first few pages, I think)  "This is where I'd put my Action card, if I had one..."

Try Everything: Buys some of every Kingdom card without any coherent plan to use them together (or variety rewarders).
I've gone through a few strategy phases. My first was to never buy any Action cards unless it had a + amount on it. (To be fair, I only had 1E base game back then, so I did win a lot). My second was this, which is the polar opposite, as soon as I discovered that "Hey, Action cards exist too and are actually kind of fun!" I stopped winning around that time. I don't think I ever made a definite transition from this into actually building good engines; I think I just sort of gradually refined it. Now I win again.

Easy Reader: Ignores any cards with too much text, regardless of how simple they are in practice ("I have $5 and need more draw. I hear Journeyman is good for draw, but I can't be bothered to read all that text, so I'll just get a Smithy instead.").
This is everyone else in my family. Even after I explain that Journeyman is really just a Smithy that can skip over a junk card of your choice.

Doesn't Know Jack - Wow, this card is kind of dull and skipable.
Howbow Dah? - Goes for Copper gainers on boards with no trashing.
The Barren - Buys cards that interact with Victory cards early on in a Shelter game.
Queen Fan - Promotes more than one Hero.

Yes, I know the verse well.

Capitalism 21:35 says "Consumption is the sole end and purpose of all production; and the interest of the producer ought to be attended to, only so far as it may be necessary for promoting that of the consumer."

More Game of Thrones spoilers...

There's probably a "losing at Dominion" meme in the Cersei/Qyburn conversation...
