And what's the deal with Fool's Gold?  First you're exposed as a fraud right away, and THEN you can play it for the big bucks as much as you want!  Don't fool me once, shame on you.  Don't fool me lots of times after that?  Shame on your handsize!

I know if I'm the guy running that stall at the Market, and someone wants to trade a Gold for a Gold, I'm gonna say thanks but no thanks!  Maybe I'll bring in a Sage to check this out first, then maybe we'll talk.

If Scout is the time Donald choked on a pretzel, is Patrol the Heimlich maneuver?

idk, my American history* metaphor is stretching thin here.  "Screw it, everyone likes a $5 Smithy with a bonus, right?"  I'm not sure there's an American history version of this principle that relates directly to W choking on a pretzel.

* - not History, whoops.

For some reason I thought you were referring to the movie American History X for a moment there. Must be because of the capitalization of the word 'History'. It puzzled me, because I'm pretty sure pretzels were not an important plot element.

(also "farmland" isn't a verb)

Obviously you've just never been farmlanded.

Obviously you've just never been farmlanded.

That just means it isn't a TRANSITIVE verb.

Do you even farmland?

I mean... while I see the similarity, you make it sound like it's clearly better, but there's 2 huge advantages that Distant Lands has:

1) You only have to play it once instead of 5 times.
2) You definitely get the points if you play it once. With Farmers' Market, you could play it 5 times and still get no points at all, if your opponent played it after your fourth play.

I'm pretty proud of getting this joke, so I'll explain!

The meme implies that Marauder is in the setup, which means ruins have been being distributed. Presumably your opponent also bought a Marauder or three so you probably have Ruins.

Inn has a feature that allows you to shuffle action cards from your discard pile into your deck, but if you choose to shuffle all of those actions into your deck, you might shuffle ruins into your deck! That would be quite the conundrum!

Yeah, as I was typing my never-posted request for an explanation, my thought process was:

"Hmm, well I know you don't always want to shuffle in every action, but you usually would. Even terminals, as you'll at least have the Inn for a Village. The only time I guess you wouldn't want your actions is if they are ruins, but that assumes that ruins are even in the game. Hmm, I wonder why it specifies Marauders instead of any other action? Does it have something to do with the rui- OH!"

Yeah, I wasn't trying to be obscure, like some reference to some obscure Copper-Curse Stef opener or something.  But of course I got my own joke because I wrote it (right after an Inn/Marauder game online).
