So the thread is dead now? I'm just posting because I want to see what happens to my post.

This is the second thread to reach 5000 replies. The first thread to due so promptly broke upon that happening, so people were expecting the same thing here. But it didn't.

I don't think that thread actually broke.  People just assumed it did because other people were being tricksy.

Wasn't it something to do with the off by one error in links to specific posts?

I don't think there was an actual error?  Here's what led up to the topic split:

#5000 Post!!

Haha, that was post #5001, now you lose all the internets.

Looks like #5000 to me.

Now it's #4999.

I'm equally confused by what's going on over there.  It seems to oscillate between 4999, 5000, and 5001.  To avoid further quantum effects I'm going to split this into a new topic.

You post-deleting scum!

pacovf was correct, though I'm not sure why that post is back to #5000.  Maybe theory dropped in a new post or something.

That said, there was also this, which is maybe what you're talking about:

Maybe those "quantum effects" were also related to the whole "have to scroll up a post to see new posts" thing.

But I don't think that was ever confirmed as a related issue.

It's a real issue, I had it, clicking "new posts" skipped whatever was actually the newest post and went to the one after it. An error I do not currently have with this thread.

I don't mean to antagonize or anything, but this is a place for being pedantic, and controversial viewpoints call for the puffin.

Maybe someone should make an MF card for the RBCI thread that's a cost-increaser.  It can be the first card whose artwork is an animated gif...

Sure.  My point is that I don't think that problem was related to the thread size.  Nobody even suggested it was other than sudgy, and that problem was occurring in Random 1 long before we got to split time.  I seem to recall it had also been happening in some much smaller threads.

It's not an unpopular opinion if no-one else is considering it.  The internet has enough puffin abuse already, thank you very much.

Why would've Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries made a great team? Because Kris is a forward and Kim is the center of attention.

This makes me wonder what sport they are playing that only needs a forward and a center. NBA Jam?

So are we going to get a split off?

Apparently not.  It's madness!  Mass hysteria, cats and dogs living together!

You know, a spoiler tag is completely pointless if you don't say what you're spoiling.

It's a GoT spoiler in case anyone cares.

I really want to find a solution to the problem of making lists of movies where a movie being on that list spoils something about the movie. Like if you have "top ten movies where the bad guy wins" or "top ten movies where it turns out it was all in the main guy's head". There's just nothing you can do! You can warn people that there will be spoilers, but you can't possibly warn them which movies will be spoiled! So you just have to avoid reading the list completely in case a movie you haven't seen but want to see is on the list. WatchMojo's top ten lists often have this problem.

Top 10 movies where Kevin Spacey is Keyser Soze.
