I wonder if there are any cards like hermit and urchin in this set. If so, it would be awesome if the playtesters didn't know about them. I think I like the cards like hermit and urchin, but I hope they aren't stupidly good like hermit and urchin are. Sure, hermit is fun, balanced, and high-skill, but they shouldn't all be the best $3-cost ever.

Explorer's Theorem says that they can't be for N=5.  The Generalized Explorer's Theorem is trivial for N=4 due to Scout's Example.  For other N, the GET is an open problem.

Because it would be awesome!

GET is similarly trivial for N = 6 with adventurer. However, Explorer's Theorem is false for N = 1, and is easily proved through exhaustion.

I don't think the N=1 case is false:

Man, why do people even complain about Hovel?  They can't all be the best $1 ever.

But for N in Z^2 there may be some counterexamples.  Say, (4,1) (=4P).

We define an $N-cost to be a supply pile with cost N in Z^3 (a,b,c) where a is its cost in coins and b is its cost in potions and c is its cost in bacon cheeseburger tokens. Hovel is not a $1, and even if it were, you could half-reasonably argue that it is the best $1 ever.

List of known examples:

(4,0,0)
(5,0,0)
(6,0,0)

List of known counterexamples:

(1,0,0)
(4,1,0)
(6,1,0)
(11,0,0)

But then some other $1 could not be the best $1 ever.

(0,0,1) is a counterexample, because we can take any space that includes both Shake Shack and any fast food chain (e.g., Wendy's).

After doing a search for Polandball and seeing more... why, why does this even exist?

Well, KnowYourMeme has as good an explanation as you're going to get. It seems to have more of a point than many things people make memes about.

That explains how it came about and what it is, but certainly not... why.  Then again, "why" could be applied to most memes...

Zoidberg should be exactly the same as Chancellor except that any time you could have gained a Zoidberg (as the choice made by an Action as played up until then or as a buy you had with $3 or more available) but do not choose to do so, you have to explain "why not Zoidberg".

(If you Remodel a Copper, you don't have to explain "why not Zoidberg" even if you had something else like a Silver you could have trashed.  Only if you trashed something costing $1 or more would you have to explain "why not Zoidberg".)
