And it is not you who has the choice of blocking something.
Contraband lets your opponent block a card. Advisor lets your opponent block a card, too.
And crucially, it is the same opponent in both instances.

I'm not sure challenges count as edge cases, since a challenge need not follow the regular goals of Dominion and you can put any restrictions/conditions that you want on them.
