It works without buying the Curse if there were 2 Colonies left only and ahead by 21+ VP.

why bother playing herald then? there's a risk that you draw another throne room instead of another colony, so you have to give them 4. Plus, winning by 21 points is better that winning by 1 point.

Huh?  I am missing something.  Herald reveals TR, hand is Amb-Colony (and probably nothing else).  Where does a second TR come in?  You would need a second Amb as well to have to reveal Colony four times.  And if you had a second Amb in hand anyway, you could just reveal Amb to send that over instead of Colonies.

The problem is that the game ends because curses run out, not beacause colonies run out.

Well sure, but I still don't understand the "risk" part of the comment.

But if you had 2 ambassadors, you could return 1.

The Double Spy one isn't a BLB, because he was lucky enough to get matched with an opponent who opened Double Spy!

I live in constant fear that cracking Scout jokes won't be enough to hold my place in the Top 10 Most Respected Players list forever.

*Death Cart and Altar are both Feast variants*
It's a pity that neither of them link that well to it thematically (unless what you sacrifice on the ... no, let's not go there).

Eh, I don't think I agree with that.
Altar gains up to $5, but it is also a trasher and is not a one-shot.  Do you consider University to be a Feast variant, since it also gains $5 cards?  Eh, I guess I can see it as a Feast variant, though it's a stretch.  However, I don't see DC fitting in at all.  DC gives virtual coin, which I think is very different from gaining a card.

Altar turns a card into your hand into a Feast.

Except for the spoils which are in the supply, and the doctor itself.
