...mining village, treasure map, hermit, urchin, horn of plenty, fool's gold...

All those can do other stuff besides be an one-shot except treasure map...

Edit: death cart

I thought of Mining Village, then decided to list just the ones that could only be one-shots like Feast, but forgot about Treasure Map.

But anyway, yeah. One-shots (and cards that can be one-shots) are definitely cool.

I don't know if there's a name for the meme, but the comic is lifted from Hejebits.

Although the joke in the original is that the guy getting thrown out the window is supposed to be making a perfectly reasonable suggestion that was ignored in real life.

It's very new, so it's probably still up for grabs a bit. However, Know Your Meme currently has it listed as Boardroom Suggestion.

EDIT: Oh, and it agrees that in the typical usage, the first two suggestions are typical marketing hype ideas while the third, defenestration-inducing one, is the one that the consumers probably actually want.

So what you're saying is, this meme is ripe for Goko jokes?

Not sure if trollbait or just ignorant... but well you can complete all the campaigns easily without paying any real money, and heck most of them you can get through without using a Zap if you're good. And the AI is very, very good considering how diverse every kingdom can be. There's a few quirks still (like buying Ruins sometimes) but mostly it's decent. Obviously not amazing, but it'll beat most newbies and intermediates pretty handily. And yes, they are adjusting multiplayer to conform to what people on F:DS want.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

It's totally awesome that they put in an AI. Seriously, that's not something to fault them for. The AI is great.

This was not always the case with Adventure Mode/Zaps.  It used to be pretty much impossible beyond the first half an act or so without buying zaps.  I believe that Donald mentioned Goko originally hoping users would spend gokoins on zaps, although this hope was abandoned long ago, and the adventure mode is greatly improved now.

Yeah, this is exactly what I mean. The company clearly has some money-loving jerkwads at the top, but at the very least, they react to what the fans tell them, and are constantly improving things.

Were zaps a RL-money only thing back then? Since I play at Goko (October) it was always possible to buy zaps with Dominion coins you get for playing games. Using those coins I have already bought all adventures and 100+ zaps which I hope will get me through at least enough Adventures to unlock one promo.

I confirm.

Initially they were hoping that some people would buy so many zaps that they would spend money on gokoins on dominion coins on zaps. They wanted a "consumable" and came up with zaps as that consumable.

This plan had two huge flaws. First was that you didn't get to play Dominion in the adventures; you were just paying to beat the level. They sucked compared to just playing random games vs. the bots, and the fix was going to have to be, making the zaps just a thing for people who were stuck. Second they never had a system where you could possibly spend money; dominion coins are too plentiful. If zaps had cost fantastic sums of dominion coins, whatever, no-one was going to pay for them for the joy of spending them to slaughter an adventure level.

I argued these points and pushed for content to be what was sold, and they seem to have come around. I expect they will try to sell campaigns at some point. I have no problem with that; it could totally be worth the price to buy one.

My point was just in the context of the comic.  It seems fair to make a comic where a Goko employee suggested selling zaps at a brainstorming session.  Thankfully they've wisened up since then (not that making money is bad, but the zap plan was.  It probably was worth exploring, though).  Anyhow, I'll make a meme later to make up for all of this text.

You already have four Treasures in hand, and no +Coin on the table so far.
