It's very tempting to make a Psyduck shill account right about now...
What's a 'shill account'?

Let me Google that for you...

Wait, there's a question? The second is obviously crazier.

Watch out -- edge cases incoming.  Can you think of when the first would be crazier?

You have $11 in hand, are 9 points behind and there's 1 colony left. Done.

The real question for the edge case experts is to find a situation in which each of them is the best play of all possible plays.

That seems unlikely compared to the actual best option.  Perhaps edge cases where crazy1 is better than crazy2 and vise versa would be easier to find.

You want that to be the best play? Alright.

You had just played Golem and drawn Lookout/Moat (don't ask what the heck is going on in this deck okay it just is). You have in hand a Scavenger, Vault and two Estates are ahead by 7 points and the Colony pile has 1 Colony left. You decided to resolve Lookout first.

How do you guarantee yourself $11? You need the extra actions, and the Platinum in your discard. So you trash Tunnel (2 points is meaningless), and put Fortress on top of your deck to be drawn. So you draw Fortress giving you Scavenger, Fortress, Vault and two Estates in hand. You Fortress, then Scavenger, putting Platinum on top of your deck, giving you $2 and Vault, Estate, X and X in hand. You play Vault, drawing Platinum and discard the other four cards, giving you $11, you buy the last Colony and win.

There. Edge Case'd

Why not trash the fortress to put it in hand, discard the tunnel put the plat back, then moat to draw 2 cards, including the plat. Then play fortress. So you have those two estates, a third card drawn from fortress and the plat and another card drawn from moat. So play scavenger for $2 and vault to discard the two drawn cards, 2 estates and 2 other cards plus the plat is $11 anyway. No need to trash the tunnel.

Second one is a little harder to make optimal, but it did make me realise a fun little pet trick while working it out.

Play Farming Village, reveal Tunnel, Watchtower. Watchtower goes into hand, THEN Tunnel is discarded. Use watchtower to give that deck some Gold. Decks love gold.

Showboating.

No joke.  Seriously, you could have a gun to my head right now and say "Tell me what the Dominion card "Vagrant" says on it" and, other than the word "Vagrant," I would not be able to provide an answer.

Do you suppose we could get theory to pin it next to the Drinking thread?  I would need the support.
