I don't think there's a kingdom where that could happen.

Hoard, Tunnel…

Yeah, I've seen plenty of games with Tunnel or Hoard in which the Gold pile got emptied.
Not especially unusual at all, particularly with more than 2 players.

In reference to the Inception above:

You buy something before you gain it.
The Mint effect and the Talisman effect happen at the same time.  Therefore you can choose to resolve the Talisman first.  So you do get two Mints.
However, Royal Seal says "when you gain."  The Royal Seal is trashed when you buy the Mint, so it is no longer in play when the Mint is actually gained.  You can't put the Mints on top of your deck.

When you buy something, you also gain that card, so the moment you buy Mint, you have also gained it. So, all abilities go off at once and you choose the order to resolve. So, yes, you can use Royal Seal to put Mint on top of your deck, but the treasures are still trashed. At least, I think that works.

-play Royal Seal, Quarry, Talisman
-buy Mint
-choose Talisman's buy effect
--gain another copy of Mint (it only costs $3 thanks to quarry)
--royal seal is in play, top deck that Mint
-do Mint's buy effect, trashing the treasures
-gain the Mint you bought

Net result: quarry, royal seal, talisman in trash, one mint in discard, one mint on top of the deck.

Net result from Goko's faulty implementation: treasures in trash, one mint on top of the deck.

Talisman gains you the extra copy right when you're resolving it; it doesn't wait for you to gain the card you bought.

Inception Leo is only expecting one mint to be top decked, but he should still be gaining two Mints.

Edit: how Goko does it:
-Play the treasures
-buy mint
-can top-deck mint with royal seal
-treasures trashed

Another edit: tl;dr: you buy a card (and handle when-you-buy events) and then you gain it (and handle when-you-gain events)

When you buy something, you also gain that card, so the moment you buy Mint, you have also gained it.

No, buy time is separate from gain time. When you buy something, you *then* gain it, *assuming* it's still okay to gain it after resolving all the on-buy effects. That's kind of why cards bother to make the distinction.

In fact, these timings aren't even necessarily consecutive: the "when you would gain" effect of Trader can trigger in between.

i.e. I'M RIGHT.

edit: Except one copy WOULD go on top of your deck because it's gained when you buy Mint.  The copy that you actually bought would go in your discard pile.  Because it's gained after your buy it.  I SWEAR THIS MAKES SENSE.

I generally enjoy memes of all sort. And I also find it desirable to discuss Dominion rules issues that arise with them!

A meme which doesn't have perfect rules accuracy is no good meme IMO! 8) So mentioning such a flaw (or discussing if it is one) is a welcome improvement suggestion for that meme.

Overly manly man is very particular about what kingdom cards he allows himself to play.

I don't think there's a kingdom where that could happen.

Hoard, Tunnel…

Yeah, I've seen plenty of games with Tunnel or Hoard in which the Gold pile got emptied.
Not especially unusual at all, particularly with more than 2 players.
I didn't say "the Gold pile never empties"  I was skeptical that the Gold pile could empty, yet Remodel was present, at least one player purchased it (and if it was such a slow game, both players purchased Remodel if there was no better way of exploiting Gold gain, and if there was a better way of exploiting Gold gain the Provinces are even more likely to be gone) yet no one had Remodelled more than 6 of the 30 Golds into Provinces.
