He's also a big fan of Dark Ages, because Forager finds him mushrooms.

Awesome. I was in the middle of typing up a "please explain" post when it hit me.

I'm going to need an explanation.
I'm pretty proud of getting this joke, so I'll explain!

The meme implies that Marauder is in the setup, which means ruins have been being distributed. Presumably your opponent also bought a Marauder or three so you probably have Ruins.

Inn has a feature that allows you to shuffle action cards from your discard pile into your deck, but if you choose to shuffle all of those actions into your deck, you might shuffle ruins into your deck! That would be quite the conundrum!

I thought it was because you'd get your Marauders - but it would take longer to get the accompanying Spoils into your hand since you filled up the drawdeck instead of shuffling. So you could generate more Spoils, but never get around to using them.

That could be a possible drawback (especially near the end of the game), but not as obviously bad as shuffling half a dozen Ruins into your deck.  As the author of the meme, I can confidently assert that the joke was intended as a statement about mindlessly clicking a button which would shuffle Ruins into your deck in a way that you definitely would not do with physical cards with conspicuous brown borders in real life.

It's questionable whether you'd want an Inn over a Duchy that late in the game, though.  But I play things wrong a lot, so idk.

If you have a decent engine in your deck; and your draw pile is almost empty; then getting an Inn should allow you to set up your next turn to get far more than a Duchy. Assuming that you aren't looking at the last turn of the game already.

Ok, so maybe you can draw your whole deck and you already have $24 and +2 Buys and you don't need more Spoils or Marauders gumming things up beyond the $24 you already have in your deck.  It's still not the most clear-cut joke or the scenario I had in mind.  If Spoils were the main problem, I could have made the joke about Bandit Camp.

Oh I wasn't responding to the joke at that point; I was responding to the question of when you should buy an Inn over a Duchy in the late game.

So often the optimal number of Heroes you want to get is 1 which you exchange into a Champion and you want to keep the Warriors for the draw. This means the right thing to sing when MFs Exchange Screen pops up is: "We don't need another Hero."

Enrique Iglesias, Skillet and Family of the Year all seem to disagree.

edit: although FotY kinda agrees if you listen to the lyrics.

Oh god, there's a whole thread for this?

(Also, even if you get one after exchanging the first, it's still pretty rare that you simply want as many as possible, and "another" doesn't have to imply that you have - or have only ever had - exactly one.  You likely will sing this song in any sufficiently long Page game.)

Fugitive/Procession be all like, "I didn't kill my wife!" "I don't care."

(I'm not going to bother making that into a comic, though.)

Has anyone noticed that the wording on donate involves drawing 5 cards at the end of turn, then shuffling and drawing a new 5 card hand between turns?

Every day I'm shufflin'

And thus does the thread come full circle
