And I'm still going to agonise over the order to put the unbought cards back.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Hey... I remember I have played with "Rebuild" even before I knew Dominion.

+1 for the above for literally nothing other than a Boston/MBTA reference.

So when Nick (dethwing) and I play Dominion, we have a running joke that I always make engines that have no business existing and he always plays Big Money when engine is clearly the way to go. He made this meme.

Whenever I play better players than me (e.g. everyone in Gokodom pretty much) the moment they do something I wasn't quite expecting, I just assume that they've spotted something I missed or decided wouldn't work, and I'm about to get thrashed.

This assumption is built out of experience of it repeatedly happening... although at least I learn something each time.

p easy to edge case this one.

Oh I know. When I thought it up, I was concerned that there would be issues with "but Spy can kill a Marshal; Scout can't." But I figured it was good enough based on "in 1 on 1; Scout always kills Spy."

By the same argument, Paper is better than Rock, even if Rock can beat Scissors while Paper can't.

Does that mean Counting House is better than Mountebank, and possibly Noble Brigand?

LOVE this! This is a classic joke, and I'm glad I had a chance to see it before a rough day.

7 is the worst. 9s can move as far as they want! They can actually scout places out! 8s can kill bombs. 7 is the highest number that does nothing. It's best trait is that it can kill 8s. Usually I put it behind bombs to kill 8s when they kill the bomb, and also to be out of the way.

Thanks.  :) I thought of it when Dominator  made the joke about an actual Scout walking by just as you were saying Scouts are the worst. Thought "I wonder what other things called 'scout' are out there? Oh hey, I think that Stratego piece is called 'scout' too! In fact, it's a really low-ranked Stratego piece!" The fact that there's also a piece called "Spy" is just bonus.

I was just looking up the rules to see the various piece names, and apparently newer releases of the game have switched all the numbers; higher now beats lower; Scout is 2 and Marshal is 10. Weird.
