Is it possible to block part of an attack?  For instance, let's say Bob plays a Followers, but Alice has a Watchtower, Trader, and Moat in hand.  Can she use the Moat to block the discard, but Trader the Curse into a Silver, then Watchtower it to the top of her deck?  Or would she have to choose between using Moat to block everything, or Trader/Watchtower but still have to discard?

Moat comes first, as it has to be played in response to the attack card being played.

If moat not revealed, then you can trader + watchtower.

In a nutshell, no.  If you reveal Moat, the attack has no effect on you.  You therefore wouldn't gain a Curse, so you can't reveal Trader.  And you don't gain a Curse, so you can't reveal Watchtower.

If you reveal Trader and/or Watchtower first, to process the incoming Curse in some way, then the window of opportunity for revealing Moat has passed, and thus you may not do it.

The cards play exactly as they are written.

Moat says that you can reveal it when an attack is played; you are then unaffected by the attack. In the situation you've described, if you do this, you're done - you do not discard anything and you do not gain a curse. Watchtower and Trader are never triggered.

Trader and Watchtower can be revealed when you gain something. If you revealed a moat, then you're not gaining anything, so there's no situation in which you can reveal them. If you choose NOT to reveal the moat, then you gain a curse! But when you gain this curse, you can reveal the trader to gain a silver instead. Now you're gaining a silver! You can reveal a watchtower to put this Silver on top of your deck.

So you don't block with Moat, reveal Trader, then reveal Watchtower, and finally discard your Trader & Moat to the Followers attack. On your turn, play Watchtower......

That does sound like an epic response. You gain a silver, and get to cycle away your clashing terminals. That would have tot be the suckiest Followers play ever. (unless it's really late-game and they do want that estate.)
