But MTG is doing a new set based on facedown gotcha cards, so if that's what you want huzzah.

Weird. Do they all have the same cost or something? How are they meant to be a surprise? What keeps you from just pretending a random card is a card with that ability?

They all cost 3 mana to play face down and have different costs to turn them face up. You have to reveal it if it leaves play the battlefield before you turn it face up.

They all cost 3 mana to play face down and have different costs to turn them face up. You have to reveal it if it leaves play the battlefield before you turn it face up.
You also have to reveal it if something removes it from the stack (Morphs are spells) or when the game ends.

Still, Magic is already full of hidden information gotchas in the form of instants and flash. It's part of the appeal.

And it's not even like the Morph ability is a new thing, it was already done in 2002-2003 and again in 2006-2007.
