Champion Match

Each season we'll have a Champion Match between the #1 and #2 of A League. This will be a 6-game match using kingdoms submitted by members of the forum. The player's scores from this match will be added to their total scores to determine the final outcome of the season.

Rules for Submission:

-Submit sets BY PRIVATE MESSAGE to the LeagueKingdoms account.
-Sets should be randomly generated sets that you've played and thought were interesting. DO NOT send in a set that has been posted and/or discussed on the Forum. You can send in a set that was played in a League game as long as it wasn't posted on the Forum.
-Send in your sets before the final week of the season.

Are sets that have been played in streams/YT videos but not discussed on the forums allowed? What if the set was played by one of the potential champions?

What about asking submitters to produce a goko log ? (or a list of players having played the game).

This would allow to make (almost) sure that none of the finalists already played the chosen kingdoms.

You'll find yourself in the close mutational neighborhood of an interesting kingdom far more often than in an interesting kingdom itself. Is it prohibited to submit kingdoms created by substituting, say, two cards for two others in a randomly generated kingdom you encountered?

Sets played in streams sort of a gray area, but we already have a set submitted from a stream. If you know that no one in A league is watching, and you don't actually make a write-up of it, then put on a warning next to it if you link to it, and it's probably fine. Potential champions can submits sets, but if they make it those sets will be automatically disqualified.

Replacing cards into the set gets a little close to designing the set, which people were against. We don't need a deluge of submissions, and I think part of the point is people getting to see how the champions play on a set that they've played through.

Who's judging which sets get used? Just thinking Stef shouldn't be judging them, as he might be playing in the Champion Match.

If there is need of people that judge kingdoms, I would certainly do it.

Luckily it is not important for this season, but tie-breaking rules for Champion-Challenger match should be clarified. More specifically, do those games count for the second tie-breaker? Do they count the same as the games from the regular season match?

The championship match doesn't count for the second tie-breaker.

Also, submissions for the Season Five championship match are now open!

It doesn't? I always assumed it counted the same as the regular games. Guess it is good that we think about this.
Will discuss and then update the "rules" post.

I guess I just assumed that it didn't, but maybe you're right that it should.

Mic Qsenoch and I will be playing the champion match for season 5 on Sunday 1st of February, 20:00 UTC.
That will also be the start of season 6.

More announcements on how/what the stream(s) will look like later.
