Wall calendars that begin on Monday instead of Sunday should be incinerated.

Wait what you have this exactly backwards.

I joined a forum yesterday that, in the profile settings, not only allowed me to set the time zone but also allowed me to specify what day of the week was considered the start to the week.

If your week starts on Sunday, then does the word "weekend" just mean Saturday for you?

If your week starts on Sunday, then does the word "weekend" just mean Saturday for you?

If Sunday is a day in the week, then does the word "weekday" include Sunday for you?

Sunday is the front end and Saturday is the back end.

I wonder if this is a regional thing.  I prefer Sunday at the start as well.

well if this were true, Saturday and Sunday would each be a separate "weekend". But in actuality, the weekend is Saturday AND Sunday, the last bit of the week.

Night is the end of a day. But it includes both before the early morning and after the evening, yet it's still only one night! What could possibly be going on?

Of course not. The weekend ends on Sunday. The calendar just begins on Sunday. It's perfectly logical, like using inches and gallons.

I say the week starts on Sunday.  The week includes both weekdays and weekends.

if what I was saying wasn't clear:

eHalc was saying that "end" in this context means "the edge of", as opposed to what awaclus was assuming it meant, which is "the last bit". I'm arguing that if we subscribe to eHalc's interpretation of weekend, then Sunday and Saturday would each be a separate end of the week, or a separate weekend.

I thought the wordplay was sufficient. :P

To be clear, only the explanation was a joke.  I do consider Sunday to be the start of the week, and I do wonder if the preference is a regional thing.

I hate long intros, so I went out of my way to create a short intro for my YouTube videos.

What do you all think of it?

Weekends are like bookends. They're no fun when they're together.

I don't know where I'm going with that. Just drink some alcohol and pretend that's witty.

I tried so hard and got so far, but in the weekend, it doesn't even matter. - Linkin Park

It is good to have a weekend to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the weekend. - Ursula K. Le Guin.

I used to think that the worst thing in life was to weekend up alone.  It's not.  The worst thing in life is to weekend up with people who make you feel alone. - Robin Williams

If life is worth anything, it must endure to the weekend of time. - Mahatma Gandhi

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's weekend. - Seneca

I think the weekend thing is regional. In Quebec, the French people put Monday at the start and English people put in Sunday at the start.

I played with Adventures for the first time yesterday. I used Save on a 2/5 opening, got a turn 2 Hoard, then used Save some more to spike $7 to get Inheritance on Monument, and man it was awesome. Two villages as well, and Monument every turn or even twice a turn, easy $8's, can get a Monustate and a gold as long any time I drew my Hoard (this actually only happened once when I couldn't afford a Province though). My opponents both went for Miser, which was fine, and Inherited Village, which I can understand why they did (suddenly turns your estates into cantrips and mean you're probably never going to run out of actions) but I don't think it was the right call due to a lack of draw, lots of extra actions were wasted.

I like Adventures.
