I am moderately concerned by your petty problems. Your loss of nearly one hour of sleep bummed me ever so slightly, but knowing that you still managed to go to bed before midnight made me feel mildly elated.

Be careful, or you'll end up inadvertently divulging your profession.

Speaking of professions, it is good to revisit the classics from time to time:

So, I made up a new type of logic puzzle and need help coming up with a name.  I am absolutely horrible at coming up with names, and nobody I know is both good at names and logic puzzles, so I want to ask you guys.  Here is an example puzzle (with a solution), and here and here and some puzzles without solutions.  The rules are:

1. Divide the grid into rectangles along the grid lines.
2. Each rectangle must contain exactly two shapes.
3. Rectangles containing two circles may not be a square.
4. Rectangles containing at least one square must be a square.

Can anybody come up with a good name?  I tend to like the geeky names better, but any good one will do.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

And, for reference, this is a list of all of the puzzles currently on my blog, to get a feel for the types of names I like (all of these names are by others).

I solved the other one!

These are pretty good. I've got them saved as "boxing match" because I don't know. Maybe something like Enclose would work as a name?

Edit: In solving these, I never needed to use the fact that two circles can't be a square, or at least I think I didn't. Maybe I just didn't get stuck enough or could see far enough ahead that I didn't need to.

When you say "puzzles without solutions", I assume you mean puzzles for which there is no solution. Puzzles without given solutions?

I did that a bit in the example puzzle.  I guess I just didn't feel like using it.  I'll definitely make more of these at some point, hopefully I'll be able to use that more.

Also, I like "Boxing Match"!  Mathgrant, the guy that inspired my blog, called Slitherlink "Fencing Match", so there is precedent...  If nobody can think of a better name, I'll use it.

I watched some old Doctor Who episodes recently and noticed some new things i didn't see before. One was that the villainous Master seems to have beaten his wive offscreen, which explains why she shot him during the season finale. Another one was that in an episode taking place in Pompeji, when there's an earthquake and all members of a roman family run to take "positions" to save their valuables from breaking, is a 1:1 parody of a scene from Mary Poppins. I laughed tears.

Also i'm going to support a Kickstarter for the first time. It's Yooka-Laylee (Ukulele), a 3D platformer by the people who did my favourite N64 game, Banjo-Kazooie (which the new game is also supposed to be a "spiritual successor" to). I'm actually getting a credit card just to be able to support kickstarter projects (starting with this one).

Also my best friend and i happen to work on out own boardgame to get on Kickstarter ourselves.

So... It's about not squaring the circle? Shame. I was going to suggest "Squaring the Circle".

Yes, puzzles without given solutions.  That was referring to how I said the example had a solution (which I realize also is weird).

The second puzzle isn't necessarily a puzzle without solution, but it has been shown to be np-hard.

Edit: In retrospect this joke seemed way funnier in my head. Ah well.

Especially if you just switch squares and circles so that circles need squares and two squares can't have them.
