You pay a social price.

I've been paying social prices for 43 years. If kilts are only for men who just don't give a fuck, then I should've been wearing kilts decades ago.

The older I get, the fewer fucks I give, which explains a lot of the fashion solecisms I've seen committed by older people. In a couple of decades, I shall be one of those guys.

You'd be great friends with Noel Gallagher.

Where I work everybody has a Mac, myself included, but my home laptop is a Windows.

I have learned how to systematically scroll in the opposite direction I want to.

I'm sure there's a setting on either machine that'll let you make them scroll the same way.

Yes. When they first implemented the backwards scrolling on OS X, I immediately changed it back.

Why would they even do something like that?

I see some great potential in owning a kilt. Many a mediocre halloween costume turns into awesome when you make it scottish.

I have found that perhaps THE major advantage to getting older (and there aren't all that many) is that I care less and less about what people think.  I'll raise a glass to you this evening, as you are wiser at 43 than I was.

I've never worn a kilt, but after my first month-long trip down the Colorado through the Grand Canyon, I gave up on pants (and shorts leave you vulnerable to sunburn while rowing).  On my second trip, I wore long lightweight cotton skirts, which allowed for much better ventilation, and still protected my legs.

Somebody in the boating arena is missing a marketing opportunity.

And yet so many women want to wear pants instead of skirts. What's wrong with them? Well, okay, so wearing pants makes them less vulnerable to extra-grabby guys. Also, pants are a way to buck male-led oppression. All right, so I get their point.

But that means that men should fight for the acceptance of wearing skirts. Regardless of gender, if you want to wear pants, then wear pants. If you want to wear a skirt, then wear a skirt. If you want to go naked, put a towel down first.

Sometimes I wear a yukata. It's pretty comfortable when you're doing nothing, but it's a lot easier to move around when you're wearing pants.

To be contrary.

Actually, to make it the same as on a touchscreen.

Scrolling on a mouse is a different motion though.  Reversing the scroll direction still doesn't make them the same.

The "contrary" comment was just snark, but I really don't see the benefit of making reverse scroll the default.  Out just confuses people.

If you have a touchscreen and a trackpad it's probably the least confusing of the two options.

I use touch screens and I use track pads.  I don't find it confusing.

I think I agree with this:

If the screen were parallel with the touchpad, it would make more sense.  But the screen isn't.

My favorite is that to turn it off you have to uncheck "Use natural scrolling"

It took me several minutes to figure out what was going on with these gifs.

I think people just need to let it go.

The only thing that needs to be let go are Frozen references.
