<How to walk>

Such a rip-off: http://expatmadrid.com/2010/01/18/instructions-for-climbing-a-staircase/

(original in Spanish is much better because of extra wordplay)

EDIT: I am so glad I found an English translation to link here.

I just had the most ridiculous game of werewolf IRL earlier today. It involved no deaths until night 4 due to me as the alien (effectively jailkeeper who lets people know they've been targetted) managing to hit the werewolf target twice and there being a no lynch every day and no kill night 1. This combined with a seer who managed to investigate everyone that wasn't a werewolf and thus getting an innocent on every night, let many people to believe the game was a troll game with no wolves. Even more fun - the first death was a generic villager, leading that villager to STILL believe it was a troll game of 8 villagers, with the mod throwing a single kill in for chaos.

Good fun. We won shortly after - the seer helped a lot of course, and we lynched a werewolf on day 4 and the other on day 5.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Back in the summer, I was in a tense game of Mafia.  IIRC there was a cop, no doctor, 3 mafia.  I was one of them.  We ended up lynching Mafia on the first day because she made a really huge slip up.  She became one of the targets of suspicion and got flustered enough to fakeclaim cop.  Most people started backing off (partially led by me, of course) but some were still doubtful so she tried to bolster her claim by giving a cop result -- she investigated that person and found her to be a regular townie.  Except... it was the first day.  No night yet, thus no chance of an investigation at all.  Obvious lie, easy lynch.

Mafia was on the backfoot from then on.  I can't remember if the cop got a positive result before being eliminated, but I did have to vote against my remaining partner at one point.  But I managed to talk my way out of some sticky situations.  I managed to sway the deciding vote to my side to keep myself in the game, and then I chose to target her rather than either of the people who had been against me.  And then I used that to turn one of those doubters against the other, for the win.  It was easily the best performance I'd ever had in a Mafia game.

You just went in all guns blazing, huh? I had fun reading this. Mafia is awesome.

So, I can populate this spreadsheet with the sheet range I want to evaluate. However, I cannot evaluate these formulas/references unless I hardcode the references into the formulas. I found an add-on for excel 2007 to do this, but found no way to do this in 2010. Anyone here know excel?

Do you have the original version of this gif? As in, without the laser effects?

Today I have discovered one of the laws of the universe. If you have chocolate on your desk, it will disappear by the end of the day, one way or another.

I got a small amount of chocolate from my lovely grandma a week ago and placed it on my living room table right away. I've had two house parties since (its christmas season), and despite the size of the initial amount, there is still like half of it left. I feel the health kick is especially strong right now.

Put it on a table you can reach while you're on a computer, and when you finish doing stuff on the computer, you will notice that the chocolate is now gone.

Are you suggesting that the lasers weren't in the original?

(No I don't, sorry.)

My wife wants a critter for a pet. I'm generally opposed to this sort of thing because if it eats or poops, I don't want to deal with it. But she's cool with taking on most of the responsibility of said critter. And I'll try to get more involved with it.

Now it's a matter of which critter. We're narrowing down between gerbils and rats. I'm in favor of rats. She's not entirely sold on the idea because rats look freaky to her. We're going to have a play date with a friend's rat to see if my wife can become comfortable with the idea of rats. I think they're cute as hell, so I don't see the problem. Different folks.

But the gerbils seem like they'd be fun pets too, so if she doesn't take a shine to rats, then we'll get a pair of gerbils. At least we wouldn't need as large a cage for them.

Why a rat instead of a mouse?

Edit: also, just learned that the most common type of pet rat is called the Fancy Rat.  Awesome.
