My hit count is one bird, one deer, one human, and almost a cyclist who decided it was a good idea to stop right in front of my car while I was about to turn.

You've killed someone while driving? Gangster! Murderer! And it's ok to hit cyclists, they piss off everyone with their attitude.

You mean the attitude that you should observe them as any other vehicle on the road with all the rights of way that entails since that is exactly how the law views them? Do you get pissed and throw your beer bottles and scream at the guy driving his tractor down the road too?

Except here in Montreal, most cyclists don't follow traffic laws like other vehicles. They weaving between cars, go through stop signs AND red lights, and usually don't ride on the specified bikes paths even when they are on the street right next to them.

Fun fact, I don't ride entirely in the bike lanes because if I did I WOULD BE RIDING IN THE DOOR ZONE AND MORE LIKELY TO BE INJURED.

Here there's lanes that are between the parked cars and the sidewalk. There's no excuse

I live in the middle of the Rust Belt.  We don't have your fancy bike lanes around here, because real Americans only drive huge cars.

No, but seriously, the lack of bike lanes here is sad.

When my girlfriend and I were in Montreal we noticed a couple roads that had nice elevated bike paths on the side of the road that were really nice. We're fans of the whole "separate but equal" thing. Wait... no not like that!

I've read Worm and I'm caught up on Pact.  Out of curiosity, what prompted this sudden advertisement?

Combination of anticipation for the next update, and a delayed reaction to the end of Arc 9. I was expecting parts of it...but didn't expect what actually happened.

So you're not caught up yet?  Arc 9 ended about a week ago.  It's been pretty crazy though, yeah. :P

I'm caught up now. I read all of act 10 so far serially, just got a little antsy for the inevitable moment when everything goes to hell. Hopefully, in a metaphorical way.

I hope I didn't post this before, but I've been listening to this background music video for quite a while. I had it playing a few months back as well and my housemate (who is entirely not into video games) told me he liked it and wanted to know what it was. I've found it to be really great as background music - calm, varied and long.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Jesper Kyd is great. His music for Hitman is also really good and moody.

I just did a thing I read on the internet that wasn't labelled "lifehack" but probably should have been. It actually worked and didn't make me look like an idiot.

My hand does hurt, though.

Removing festival wristband

I heard about a method using an unfolded crisp packet using the silvery greasy side against your wrist it helps it slide off easily. Not 100% sure of the process but it I've been told it works.

People react to me strangely when I explain the "lifehack" of eating an entire apple. I'm not sure if it truly constitutes a lifehack. I suppose it slightly improves your lifestyle in that you waste just a little less food.

Basically, you just eat the apple from the bottom up. You get that bitter core, but it's combined with the savory areas surrounding it, so it's not so bad.

And I guess we're so accustomed to fruits bred without seeds that the most incredulous question I get is, "You even eat the seeds?!"

The answer is that I don't normally eat the seeds because when I eat an apple that way, the seeds are fairly easy to just pop out. If I don't have a trash can handy, though, then I'll eat the seeds.

Man. I had four strips of bacon yesterday. Was one automatically undercooked, one automatically overcooked? No, let's put a stop to that right here, all four strips were excellent.

Our dog's isn't quite so obvious but then, I suspect some Photoshopping in the posted picture. At any rate, our dog has earned a new nickname; "Dirty Jeezus".

I'm so confused right now, I thought I was in the random stuff thread but it turns out it's the thread on the 206th card.

Given enough time, the Random Stuff thread should eventually intersect every other thread.
