Man we already covered most respected posts just a few weeks ago guys.

question: how does one find their most respected post?

It's been asked before.  I know mine (it's the most respected post on the forum), but I don't know about anybody else's.

Man we already covered that response just a few hours ago guys.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

So, got this email today from work about lost and found:

This month I have recovered the following lost items:
  • a pair of black women’s sunglasses
  • a brown men’s wrist watch

The accenting is from the email, not mine.  Phrasing is fun.

And, why is only "black" italicized and not other colors?

I'm guessing it's to further set it apart from the surrounding text. The other colors are already eye-catching, but the rest of the text is already black. So they probably italicized it for good measure.

That being said, I don't know why they're coloring the words in the first place.

I admit my immediate reaction the email was, "How does she know the glasses belong to a black woman?  Are they somehow different from other sunglas.... oh... I get it".

Brown is a terrible way to describe a wristwatch... Because I would hazard a guess at somewhere around 30% of watches have a brown strap.  However, a brown face is much less common.  Also, it's easy enough to find the brand of the watch, seeing as it's usually on the face...

Also, I need an excuse to post in this thread so I can be notified of the new random stuff going on

Maybe I should start posting daily lost & found from work. It's amazing how many people lose things like wallets, keys, clothing...

Generally with a "lost and found" email you don't describe all of the identifying properties.  You announce that you have found a brown wristwatch, and then when someone claims that the watch is theirs, you ask them for the brand name or other identifying information in order to confirm that it is really their watch and that someone isn't just claiming a free watch.

Apparently I overdrew my checking account. Thank god my bank decided to charge me a $10 overdraft fee. Thanks BOA for kicking me while I'm down.

At least it doesn't sound like the spiral of overdraft fees that could easily be avoided by an ethical bank (ha!).

I had a scenario where I goofed on a money transfer. Then on the same day, the bank decided to clear my rent payment (the largest) and then my other bills. If it had just cleared the smaller amounts first, then I would have overdrafted only once when the rent bill cleared. But no, they cleared the rent first which triggered an overdraft and then cleared the others which each individually triggered overdraft fees. I was so livid.

And that's why I don't do business with Commerce bank anymore. Also, they charged me for account inactivity in my savings. Apparently they had to punish me for not causing more work on their end withdrawing money.
