Speaking of signatures, I think Andrew is slowly making his way into all of ours.

That's the plan! I think you should find a real quote of mine though.

KingZog3's quote seems legit to me

It's more of a paraphrase of something he said in a dominion game to me.

I'm equally confused by what's going on over there.  It seems to oscillate between 4999, 5000, and 5001.  To avoid further quantum effects I'm going to split this into a new topic.

I know.... I presume Jimmmmm knows too...

Wait, it's back to 5000 in the original thread.  I will presume that theory knows. :P

For further confusion:

I figured it out on a technical level in a way that a preschooler wouldn't be able to.  Had to look up a solution to realize what the intuitive answer is.  Still not sure a preschooler would get it, but it's more plausible now.

The fact that pre-schoolers can do it in five to ten minutes gives it away instantly. The only thing they know is how to count.

I got it in about 15 seconds, using the hint that apparently pre-schoolers can solve it. The answer is 2 - you count how many areas inside numbers there are, basically. E.g. an 8 has two areas, while 7 has none

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Why do we need a new thread?

Also, I don't see how you can need more than a couple of minutes to solve the above by regarding it as an equation system.

To avoid quantum effects, as theory said.

Maybe those "quantum effects" were also related to the whole "have to scroll up a post to see new posts" thing.

question: how does one find their most respected post?

You post something that gets upvoted dozens and dozens of times. It then becomes your most respected post. You could try a pic of a sad kitten losing to a KC-masquerade-goons pin.

...Otherwise you need to keep the tally yourself.

It's been asked before.  I know mine (it's the most respected post on the forum), but I don't know about anybody else's.

Me too, it's the card from Base Dominion that expands Treasures.

EDIT: My most respected post is, as far as I know, this.

I did it by photoshopping glorious facial hair onto a board game designer's face.

At least I think I did.  I don't remember another post of mine being so well received.

I think mine was when I stepped into a (serious) thread, didn't read it, made a completely serious reply, and managed to get message of the week from it.

Well, it's that or a post I made from an alt account. Probably the latter actually.

Edit: It's the latter. Sigh.

If you assume each digits maps to a given number, there's enough information to solve it, but that overcomplicates things.

I think my most respected post is one in the Soviet Dominion thread. I don't know how to link to a specific post, but if you scroll down about halfway you'll see it.

just click on the post itself.  So, in this case, you would click on the "Re: In Soviet Dominion..." that is just above "Reply #12 on: April 09, 2014, 03:34:55 am" and it will give you a url for that specific post.
