I feel like we need a "computer games" subforum somewhere.  Anyway.

Factorio.  Indie partly inspired by Minecraft, but where the whole intent is to automate as much as possible.  So you build mining and smelting equipment, which give you materials to build conveyors and power plants and eventually work your way up to robots that will automatically build entire new gigantic factories.

Anyone played it?

This looks sufficiently cool that I'm downloading the demo.  Hooray for Linux binaries.

Yeah, the demo left me salivating for more.

I've played through the demo.  It's pretty engaging from the beginning, and it's always fun to learn how things work.  The demo ends in a strange place though: you're either idling or building vast quantities of a building that sits there and increments a counter.

I'd have played more if it was there, but I'm not immediately tempted to buy the alpha, although it would probably be fun.
