Ignore KC/Saboteur or Not?

Code: [Select]
Poor House, Beggar, Duchess, Fool's Gold, Cutpurse, Spice Merchant, Trader, Golem, Saboteur, King's Court
Thoughts on this kingdom?  KC/Saboteur is always brutal, but there is only +Buy in Spice Merchant which is conditional.  Can the Immune FG/Beggar compete against a destruction style deck?

Here is the game that I played.

Hello.  Name's Bruce.  It's all right.  I understand.  Why trust a shark, right?

Is quite curious - Who is the mystical "Celestial Chameleon"?

Without FG, I'd probably try going very heavy on Spice Merchant early on, transitioning into KC-Poor House, maybe a Golem or two if you can pick up Potion, the ideal deck playing a Beggar each turn to feed Spice merchant. With FG, you have to contest, and I think that makes it not doable because you'll now have all these FG.

I think Beggar reaction protects you against Sab enough to skip it.

I think your strategy is correct (my first thought was that I wouldn't buy gold, but upon looking at your game it's clear that you're right to do so). One problem for the kc/sab strategy is that the only mechanism to help you get the king's court in the same hand as the saboteur is spice merchant, which is not so hot. Would a relatively weak way to draw be enough for you to choose the other strategy?

You need to be careful with fools gold vs saboteur since your income is safe but your vp is extremely vulnerable. It's just too much work though to set up a golem or king's court deck once the fool's gold has split though. The game is just too far progressed and the kingdom has such limited trashing, +cards and +actions.
