If you haven't seen it, Donald X wrote in another thread that he is playtesting Prince on playdominion now, so it could be Real Soon Now!

I already have finished all adventures and spent all of the shields on promo cards.  It's going to really suck if there's no way for me to get this card.  (although, I currently don't have walled village or stash for the same reason.)

You have been able to buy the promo cards for some time now.  They're $1 each.

You can't buy all of the promo cards for $1, but I recall that you can buy Black Market and Stash for $1. Walled Village I think you can only get for Shields. However, if you already bought all of the other cards the smallest increment of "Goko rupees" that you can buy was $4 last I checked.

Oh, so they still didn't make the first two buyable?  Geez, that is lame.  I was fortunate enough to have earned the first 3 through Adventures that I was able to buy the last two and have all five.  My mistake, then.

Speaking of things inexplicably not available for purchase, I still wonder whether they'll ever offer the new base card art as a buyable option. It'd be nearly free money since the art already exists and they could just stick a checkbox in the UI somewhere that determines whether it's in use. Since they haven't done it, I assume they must have too few active players to even believe it would generate significant revenue, which doesn't make me optimistic about the long term prospects of the servers being funded.

They haven't done it because they've abandoned the FunSockets/Goko codebase and are writing a new one.

The only thing wrong with this plan is that they didn't start on it years ago.

?!?!?!? This conclusion does not follow at all from the evidence. I would be a lot more worried if they had found no bugs at all in their first implementation, or if they weren't forthcoming about bugs they had found and released it anyway. Finding bugs is an important part of the process of software development.

I'd give them the benefit of a doubt.  Prince is probably one of the more complicated cards to implement anyway. (Possession didn't even come out with the original release of Alchemy on Goko)
