Yea I am still like sixteen. I would go if my parents are okay with it and it's not on the 17th. I have some friends at UMD I could probably crash with. Or I could just make it a day trip and go home in the evening since I live quite close.

I'd love to come, but again, only if I have a place to crash.

5 hours is so far though... I would love to come, but I'm not sure I'd be able to.  Now if it were Pittsburgh...

Got an air mattress?

heron I think you'll be fine, and yeah definitely just go home afterwards.

Robz doesn't actually live over here.

So heron, wero, Geolib, possibly Ahoppy and Jsh. Jsh and Ahoppy iif you guys come you should make it a long weekend and do some stuff around DC or something to make it worth the drive.

Yes, more of a loveseat. It's small but what it lacks in length it makes up for in comfortableness.

I could probably make do with that.  If you don't mind, that is!

AFAIK Board and Brew is not age-restricted.  I haven't been there, but a few friends told me it's more like a cafe than a bar, though as AndrewisFTTW mentions they do have beer.

As far as dates, Jan 23-26 is MAGFest but otherwise Jan and Feb are fairly clear for me, and I live maybe half an hour from there, so I'd show up to a meetup.  Speaking of MAGFest, that is also an excellent place to gather and play games of all sorts, and if other f.ds-ers happen to be going, I might be convinced to bring my set.

Robz doesn't actually live over here.

He doesn't? I thought he was in DC. His profile says DC. The map says DC.

It's all lies.

I live in Michigan right now. I've moved back and forth semi-frequently, and will likely be DC bound again in the future. But for now, I'm in Detroit.

I would not be opposed to convening at magfest.  I have always wanted to go.

Hmmm... I haven't heard of MAGfest before. Just reading about it. It looks pretty cool. I'm not sure that I'm enough of a videogamer, though. Also $60...

I concur about the cost part.  Would rather just get Dominion peoples together.

Return to DC on the 15th, home until the 2nd-3rd. Would probably be able to make it over on most nights between then and I have some friends who might care to join. Can't say if my fam would be comfortable hosting internet people for the night. I'll ask - if it were my own place wero and others would be more than welcome but unfortunately that is not the case.

Also because I don't check f.DS on a regular basis, if anything starts to fully take form, PM me.
Also I'd rather not do MAG fest because money.

I've been wanting to check out MAGfest but I'm trying to avoid going by myself as I myself am not nerdy enough. So how about the weekend after, Friday the 30th-Feb. the 1st?

I personally can't go that weekend, but it seems that no matter what it will be hard to pick a date that satisfies everyone.

Someone should set up a poll/Google Form and have interested parties fill it out.

True and of everyone who has expressed interest you're the farthest away. Maybe we can just meet up at MAGfest? I definitely want to check out these "special" cards.

Well, I will say that since I AM so far away it's probably not wise to plan the whole event around me going if the date doesn't work.  But, I will definitely go if I'm able.  I love playing IRL dominion, meeting like-minded people is fun, and the area is a pretty ideal visit for me anyway.  That one weekend just happens to be perfect for me, but that doesn't mean it is for everyone else.

And I didn't realize MAGfest was $60.  They don't even offer single day passes!  If we are doing MAGfest, we need to decide before Nov. 30th, since the tickets are $55 if you get them before then.  No pressure, right?

Me, I'm crazy.  I'll buy the tickets.  I'll freakin' do it, man.

Edit: ALSO, if I bring my cards, based on my last experience I will either need to a) only bring a few non-special cards or b) mix the cards with someone else's who also uses MayDay Euro sleeves.  The full set is too heavy to take on the plane.  If enough people are going anyway, it'd be nice to have more base cards that are sleeved.

I meant me and you and whoever else was planning on attending MAGfest can meet up there but a separate meetup should still be planned. The weekend after MAGfest seems to be ideal for mostly everyone right now and the first priority is accommodating as many people as possible. Now is probably a good time to add a poll to this thread.

As far as MAGfest is concerned, let me call up a couple friends of mine and if I can get them to buy tickets then I'll go ahead and buy mine.

Ah, that is not a bad idea.  Not bad at all.  I'll ask my wife if she wants to go to the convention.  Odds are, she'll just want to hang out with her sister, which saves us money and gives me more freedom to wander about.  MAGfest is about 20 minutes farther than the Board & Brew, but that's still acceptable commute I think.  I'll need to sort out the details before pulling the trigger.

Also, if anyone else is around there at the time, I'd be glad to meet up for a few games somewhere near MAGfest.

Would you be willing to do a meetup in college park one of those nights? Do it for Jsh!

The 24th would be ideal for that, I think.  I'm actually not clear on if we have the 26th off or not.

Anyway, I'll let you guys know my plans when I have them.

I just made a new thread for MAGfest so let's use this thread to talk about a separate meetup that may or may not take place during that weekend. Here's the MAGfest thread:
