Careful, you have to trash all the money you spent on it.

That's not really fair. Printing a paper card is no work at all, once DXV has designed it: just send the card template to a printing shop. Implementing it for a computer requires custom engineering work, which could be rather time-consuming.

You're encouraging it anyway! I get multiple upvotes every day, but it's been months since the last time someone told me that I managed to make them laugh.

My Prince has arrived.  It's wonderful to have more cards.  Now I just wish the randomizer apps would update to include it already.

I think this was brought up in earlier Prince threads, but isn't Prince of Scout actually pretty good?  Could Scout possibly the card that gets the biggest upgrade by having Prince in the kingdom?

Um.......huh? Care to elaborate on this a bit?

Scout sucks largely because of the opportunity cost and the lack of reliability in when/where in your deck it will be drawn.  Played with Prince, you get 2 actions to start every turn (i.e. +1 action over your standard 1 action), any green vacuumed up into your hand, and the ability to arrange the top of the deck with anything else, which synergizes nicely with terminal draw.  Also, by the time you are hitting 8 for Prince, it is likely (but not necessarily) approaching the greening phase, which is when having Prince of Scout would be very helpful.

Yeah, but Prince of anything else is usually even better than that, just like anything else is usually better than Scout.

Yea, playing scout every turn doesn't make it any more reliable, it just means that it probably will be decent once or twice.
Also the opportunity cost of a princed scout is even greater than that of a normal scout, since that's a whole prince that could have been way better.

But it makes your deck more reliable. You're almost guaranteed to never draw any green in your initial hand. Almost. And it applies to your initial hand only.

Compared to starting every turn with a 8-card-hand, it's incredibly weak. Just like Scout usually is. But unlike Scout, the effect itself isn't horrible, it's just worse than what you'd expect for the effort.

terminalCopper already characterized Prince of Scouts perfectly:

Yeah, Scout becomes a village with a bonus, and a village with a bonus usually costs 4$. In other terms, all you have to do to turn Scout into a correctly priced card is combining it with a card costing 8$.

it applies to whatever you draw first.  It only makes your next hand cleaner if you don't draw much this turn (or, I mean, you could pick up a bunch of green and then reshuffle, so your next hand would be cleaner on average)

As was earlier stated, the biggest problem with scout is the opportunity cost, and with Prince, the opportunity you've giving up is going to have much larger ramifications (provided the prince was a good in the first place).

Probably the only time Prince+Scout is useful is when you're going BM+$4-action-that-isn't-too-great-but-better-than-silver where a Province and that action got swindled into a Prince and a Scout and they just happened to collide.

If I was playing Swindler/BM, I don't see why I would also have a $4 action in my deck.
