A story about Dominion and family

So I'm in Florida this week for a yearly family reunion, hanging out at the beach, swimming, being basically incredibly lazy, as lazy as one can be when dealing with two kids plus helping to wrangle other peoples' kids as well.  There's not a ton of time for games since we're all exhausted from beach stuff, but the last couple of years I've brought down and played a Eurogame or two and played them with some of my teenage relatives.

This year, I made a snap decision, and bought a copy of Dominion for the two teenagers--or technically for their family but, hey, whatever, I know who will actually be playing.

I taught them the game last night.  They have played something like six games today, and are playing as I type this.

I taught a Dominion to my in-laws a couple weeks ago actually. One of my sister-in-laws enjoyed it enough that she wants to get it now.

Man. I had four strips of bacon yesterday. Was one automatically undercooked, one automatically overcooked? No, let's put a stop to that right here, all four strips were excellent.

I got dominon as a gift randomly. It was the. Set up on the kitchen table permanently for about a year. The games were mostly me vs. my brother and his girlfriend or the neighbour who used to come over the play.

I like having Dominion permanently set up in my room...

...in case I ever feel like playing with myself. Which is abnormally often.

I played it with my parents once and they waited patiently as I played my neverending KC-Wharf-GM string and even ooh'ed en aah'ed.

I told my wife it was about shopping.  She liked it right away.
