There's a card not on this list which should be.  Which one?

Thief
Mining Village
Bishop
Horse Traders
Tournament
Young Witch
Jack of All Trades
Spice Merchant
Trader
Death Cart
Ironmonger
Procession
Scavenger
Herald
Plaza
Taxman
Walled Village

they're all four-costs... all except horse traders and young witch have to do with trashing or the top of your deck... I'm gonna guess RATS!

they all cost 4, they all refer to a card, and they all have a conditional effect which you can choose to activate if you want, all except herald

that's not enough to guess the answer though. i'm giving up on this one

Silverspawn is close, but the common link is much more specific.

It probably isn't just something like condition __, oh and it must cost 4 by the way. The condition probably makes it have to cost 4.

I still don't have it, but I have another guess: Spy

Baron: Today is May the 4th, and each card on the list contains the word "may" and costs $4

Yup, scott_pilgrim's got it.

edit:  By the way, while looking through the cards for this puzzle I noticed that Noble Brigand requires you to gain the trashed Treasures, while Thief leaves it optional.  I don't remember noticing that distinction before.

It's a holiday today? Due to some regional differences, it's not a holiday on May 4th.
Also, it's already May 5th on my side.
So what holiday is it on May 4th?

It's actually Star Wars Day.  May the Fourth be with you.  It's about as unofficial as pi day.

I currently imagine mail-mi wearing a dark trenchcoat and a bowler hat, hunched over a bit, toothpick in his mouth, holding a gun in his pocket.  One bead of sweat trickling down his nose.

'And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise." - Moroni 7:41, the Book of Mormon

Because, as Gandalf said, "Harry, live long and may the Force be with you".
