F.DS Canterbury ghostofmars wins!
« on: April 23, 2014, 02:17:19 pm »

Here's a link to the Kickstarter for this game, if you're interested in the game itself:
 Canterbury

And here's a link to the rules:
Rules

It's fairly straightforward and no luck at all (except turn order, but it's supposed to be balanced)

Here's who is signed up:

1) ghostofmars
2) theorel
3) AHoppy

I'm currently working on the spreadsheet, with a completion TBD.  If you want to take a look at it, you can see what it's looking like Here

Some notes on the spreadsheet:
-Names you see on the buildings may be slightly different from the names in the game, that's just so they fit in the cells
-I changed the name of the Commerce service to be Trade so that there aren't duplicate shorthand letters

Spreadsheet is all ready to go.  I had more fun making it/found more time than I should have... Anyways, it's ready to go so please check it out, and if you have any questions on the spreadsheet or on the game itself, please ask.  I'm hoping for at least one more person, so I think I'll start play tomorrow if we don't get any more sign ups.  Also, please confirm /in ness

The spreadsheet looks good to me. One question concerning the buildings: the color code is yellow=cost, purple=town prestige, and black=player prestige, right?

Because the rulebook map is small, and the way you're showing the City Prosperity/Money Produced doesn't include it...and it might be important at various points.  Tax income is RoundUp(Prosperity / 10) + 4.  (so, it starts at 5, and goes up by 1 every 10 prosperity)

You are correct.  It is taken into account in the formula for the "Money Produced" box. (I didn't know what else to label it).  Is there some way you want me to indicate where the next increase is?

You are correct.  I color coded it according to the physical game tiles

If you wanted to note something like: Next Prosperity Change, Next Money Produced that would probably be good information to have available at a glance.

Otherwise, I posted it here, so I can reference back to it.  As you mentioned it's also in the spreadsheet rule (I didn't think to look to see if it was a formula).

I added that information.

Also, the spreadsheet is quite simple to use to take your turns.  Would you guys like me to open it up for editing and explain how you go about taking your turn, or would you rather have me just moderate the sheet?

Alright, Canterbury is ready to go, we just need the starting play order.  Lowest number goes first, highest last

ghostofmars:
Rolled 1d100 : 4, total 4

theorel:
Rolled 1d100 : 63, total 63

AHoppy:
Rolled 1d100 : 66, total 66

I'm counting the rounds as each time the city reaches 100 prosperity.  So, there will be 4 rounds.  Up to 301, then one last time around for each player

I would prefer if you mod the sheet for approx 5 turns, to see if we get everything. Then we can add our turns ourselves.

Build wells in district 5 and 3 for 2 coins.
Town +2pp (prestige points)
I get +2pp for the wells and another +2pp breaking grounds bonus

All correct?

That all looks correct.  As far as the sheet goes, the things you do manually are: place the buildings in the correct districts, then place the colored cube in that district, then go to the admin sheet, type P1 and Well, put in the bonus points you may get for those things and it calculates the rest.  The block I copy into here you have to update the previous turn stuff manually, but eh, it's not too bad.

I'm with ghostofmars...just having a few turns to make sure we're not missing stuff would be good.

Makes sense.  I'm fine with modding whatever amount you guys want.

I did the same thing as theorel, except in district 5

build well and farm in district 4
Cost 3 coins, get 3pp for building+1pp for breaking ground
Town +3pp

By farm you mean garden.
You get 2pp for breaking ground because you analyze it at the end of the building phase so you get a point for each cube (2).

Tax and Build a Well in District 7. (Net: +2 coins, +2pp, town +1pp)
All good and updated.

My Turn:
Build a stall in district 5, garden in district 3

Current Player: ghostofmars
Round: 1
Points to District Favor: 72
Previous turn:
Player: AHoppy
Coin gained: -7
Points gained: 8
City point gained: 7
