When would you buy a feast with more than 4 coin to spend?

I can think of several, but I'm sure there are more.

There are some obscure treasury strategies where you buy feasts without surrendering the treasuries and then convert feasts to green cards in later turns. Highways also open up possible tricks where you buy cheap feasts and then trash the feasts for big vp cards later. I have also won games by trashing a feast for a city during my turn and getting the city benefits before my opponent, so it only needs an extra step of arch cunning to plan that a turn beforehand, perhaps using a watchtower to put the feasts on deck.

embargoed 5, fairgrounds, cost-based trashing (develop, governor, forge), highway/feast -> grand market combo, working around the trash effect of mint

You think you can TR or KC it next turn, or you're trying to 3-pile.

Here's the first 10 I see:

1. I want a feast so in the future I can play village -> feast (empty city pile) -> mass activated city spam of doom. On my turn. Also, I might also want to avoid activating cities by buying the last city before my opponent's turn.
2. I'm pretty sure I will be able to TR/KC it in the future for better reward.
3. Fairgrounds
4. Vineyards
5. I have 2 buys and I really need exactly one of something else (e.g. I need get cross roads for +actions and will later turn the feast into a second council room).
6. I can play 3 highways before playing the playing it for a province later.
7. I need 4 coin feed for farmland (e.g. duchies bought out, I hit 5 coin so  I buy a feast so I can trash it later with farmland to get another farmland).
10. I have a big (draw the whole deck) scrying pool engine, there are no better actions left to buy, and I don't want kill my engine with duchies just yet.

I have played a colony game with King's Court, Highway, Feast, various powerful draw cards, and no +buy. Believe it or not, the correct strategy was to King's Court your feasts into stuff.

KC/Feast is awesome, but without seeing the board, I'm not sure I do believe it, 'cause I imagine it could be rather sloooooow.

I can see doing it if many of those coins were Talismans.

Bit of a longshot, but you want to use it as fodder for forge, since you have either other $4's you want to trash, or some combination of $7.  Maybe a $5 for plats?

Nothing with KC and drawing cards is slow.

This seems like the most obvious answer to me...?

I have multiple buys.
