This is a PBF for the board game Village. The spreadsheet is found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lSwxsXrp3EDi8BPgcErXiUTpULZlUIH0ax1yOYeLCFc/edit#gid=0

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

I'm in. It's time to reread the rulebook as I have forgotten most of the rules.

that's quite a spreadsheet.

It was one of the most complex I've done yet, I'd say. And I'm currently working on something even worse (mainly because I'm trying to make it entirely user friendly, as opposed to just for myself...)

I'm not starting the game just yet but the sheet is set up and ready, if you want to have a look at things and try and think ahead.

I think we're all ready to go now, or at least ready enough.

I'm not yet sure, if I understand the strategy, but I'll just try what works in other worker placement games :)
Take Knowledge and grow family (get first 2nd generation meeple)

I think of this more as a worker takement game than a worker placement game (the 'workers' are the cubes), but extra family members are still important.

Agreed, but having a gen 2 person means they can work longer in a building.

Take skill from crafts, pay 6 time to train someone in stables and get a horse

okay, trying to remember how this game works... I played this a couple times IRL a year or so ago. Skill/pers/faith/knwl/plague are the colored cubes, right? What's the bad thing that plague does? They are referred to as a group as influence... and grain is a separate resource? How do you get grain? Why isn't ahoppy's worker in the stables?

I think everything else is coming back to me...

Yep. They're colour coded, where possible.

Quote
What's the bad thing that plague does?

It increases your time by 2. This isn't always a bad thing (the Chronicle does give a lot of points potentially).

Quote
They are referred to as a group as influence...

Yes. Well, technically Plague isn't an influence (it disappears immediately) but yes.

Quote
and grain is a separate resource? How do you get grain?

Use the Harvest action. You gain 2 grain for taking it (if you have a Horse + Plough you get 3 grain. If you have a Ox + Plough you get 4 grain).

Quote
Why isn't ahoppy's worker in the stables?

Because I'm bad at moderating :).

Take Skill from Crafts, convert Knowledge to Scroll

Btw: As I understand the rules, you would be allowed to spend the influence you chose directly. Is that interpretation correct? Example: I could have taken Skill and combined Skill+Knowledge to get a Plow.

It's a nice quick copy-paste, so it's easy enough for me to do. I'd add more into it, but I'm not really sure what info would be best presented in it.
