PS: Did I just discredit the first player advantage?

Not really. Boloni isn't a big poster on these boards but he did win the old Boardgamegeek isotropic league numerous times.

Chapel division, gamesou (34) beats castrock (31) 4-1. This was a Duke evening (3 boards out of five) with long games

Thanks castrock for these nice games !

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-122024-f49dc678.html
castrock 40 - gamesou 35 (25 turns). Illustrates that IGG are powerful ... I thought that 3 early masquerades would be enough to send back the curses, but no !

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-124104-94331bbe.html
gamesou 84 - castrock 71 (31 turns). The board was full of green cards (Duke, Fairgrounds, Silk Road). Castrock went for Fool's golds and could pick 6 provinces ... but at the endgame my Silk Roads and our Fairgrounds were also worth 6VP. I got quickly two Jesters, hoping to use them as cursers with so many green cards. On second thought this may have been a pretty good board for Develop (I used it once to change a Jester into 12 VP).

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-130914-ca0ba99a.html
gamesou 58 - castrock 49 (22 turns). A very tense game. Castrock tried to set up a 5-cards bishop machinery but didn't completely succeed. I pertubated him with Pirate Ships. At some point he could have tied, but this meant losing because he started. I was lucky to have $5-loaded Pirate Ships to help me grab the last provinces.

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-132103-bf13b8ee.html
gamesou 40 - castrock 31 (19 turns). A quick game. There was no attack on the board but the temptation to get one from the Black Market. I prefered to open Jack/Silver and race for Duchies/Dukes starting from turn 4, going through Feast when necessary. Castrock was a be slower in the race (he also open with Jack but bought a Swindler from the Black Market deck). Trade Routes were useful too !

(Forgot to save the log)
gamesou 55 - castrock 45. By far the less fun game. There was a Minion/Pawn/Grand Market/Outpost engine that castrock ignored to rush for Dukes. I guess I clicked 20 more times than you during this game, castrock !

I (LexiphanicLemur) defeated Ilpars 4-1 in the Witch division. I forgot to save all of the game logs, but here's the final game:

I'll post the full councilroom logs when it updates.

In the Witch league, danshep (29) defeated BestKenEver (36) in a very closely fought 4-1 match - that final score doesn't reflect how hard I had to scramble to get each of those victories. Well played.

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111128-180113-dd895d78.html danshep wins 43-37
  - My use of native village won the game here. Letting his ghost ships put crap on my deck which I could village away meant my deck was half the size of his by game's end, and the endgame was fairly safe because I could alway summon back my village mat for a province buy if needed.

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111129-173845-7b1d9ee6.html danshep wins 11-10
 - Ken had better shuffle luck here to start and managed to swamp me in IGG curses, but i managed a slight points lead in the midgame and started trying to empty the nobles. Ken probably could've won, but didn't pay attention to points and accidentally bought out the last nobles (if he had've bought a duchy, I probably wouldn't have been able to catch him).

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111129-175018-40564a72.html danshep wins 11-9
- Another IGG match, where I again lost the curse battle, but picking up a workshop to grab two potions in the midgame let me pick up a couple of vineyards to eek out a win, but only because Ken drew some unlucky final hands.

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111129-180433-496d1c8c.html BestKenEver wins 33-27
- A match with familiar and ambassador where I drew my potion with $2 and constantly drew my ambassador with single estates... wasn't going to go my way. Got closer than I expected as I managed to ambassador back most of the curses, but in the end I had to put myself out of my misery.

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111201-173832-9952be93.html danshep wins 43-28
 (http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-173832-9952be93.html)
- Thought Ken had me when he got the early vault and the first grand market, but then his luck seemed to turn when his vault drew both his hag and GM dead. I then went hard into caravans, hoping to cycle to my vault and GM as often as possible, while also picking up victory points much sooner than Ken, ultimately giving me a fairly unassailable lead.

Round 1 Match Chapel Division eatraister vs. janerik

eatraister wins 4-3-2.  Props to Janerik for being a great opponent.  I believe I had a fair amount of luck on my side to pull some of these games out.

Game 1 eatraister wins 1-0

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-093126-65bdf4f9.html

The curse split ended up 7-3 in my favor.  I think this was largely due to me being able to get a Sea Hag on the 3rd turn. By turn 5, I had a Sea Hag and 2 Familiars to his 1 Familiar because of some unlucky draws for janerik.  janerik decides to move to the next game.

Game 2 janerik wins 1-1

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-094618-e613ab15.html

This game I got housed because of janerik's apothecary/coppersmith strategy which just dominated me.  No luck here.  Just a good old fashioned beatdown.

Game 3 janerik wins 1-2

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-100005-580cc228.html

I felt a little unlucky here, and janerik was able to get a border village on turn 3, while I was not able to get my first one until turn 9 (I think?).  I will also admit in retrospect, that his opening was probably better than mine, and he just made better overall decisions this game.

Game 4 TIE 1-2-1

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-100725-c2490c15.html

We both decided to go with different openings,  Steward/Potion (me), Steward/Steward (janerik), and I honestly felt like I was behind most of the game, and I felt fortunate that my apothecary gambit did well enough to pull out the tie.  I started to buy provinces with only 1 gold in the deck after he started buying cities because if a pile ran out, I was definitely going to lose.

Game 5 eatraister wins 2-2-1

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-101720-ea7378e3.html

I believe the difference was the opening here, Workshop/Mining Village (me), Silver/Mining Village (janerik).  It allowed me to maintain a slight edge for most of the game.

Game 6 TIE 2-2-2

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-103245-14e3172a.html

I felt very fortunate to have tied here considering janerik was able to get goons very early in the game, and I made a couple of misplays, including replacing his swindler with a smugglers (should have given him a loan), which allowed him to smuggle a Duchy late in the game.  I was also fortunate that my swindler hit one of his goons mid game to slow down his vp onslaught (his 25 to my 14 at the end) a bit.

Game 7 eatraister wins 3-2-2

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-104000-f3369251.html

I believe the difference here was the scheme and my ability to develop my estates a turn earlier that Janerik, even though we had identical openings.  Janerik also ended up with 6 gold to my 4, so it is also evident that draws play some role in this as well.

Game 8 janerik wins 3-3-2

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-104957-0e17460a.html

Another old fashioned stomping.  My opening was terrible.  I misread (i.e. made poor decisions) the board and his bishop tortured my torturer.

Game 9 eatraister wins 4-3-2

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-140455-de98acc4.html

I felt my opening was better, of course, the split was unfavorable for Janerik, Fishing Village/Bridge (me), Potion/Pawn (janerik), because going the university route seemed a bit slow to me with minimal card draw on the board and no $5 card to gain.  This allowed me to get to goons early which was the difference in the game.  Regardless, Janerik going for vineyards kept the game very close despite the uneven opening, with the final margin being only 5.

Overall a great set of games, and once again, thanks to Janerik for a classy match.

lolrob (seed 16) defeats affe82 (seed 49) in a tight series with some... interesting kingdoms.

Game 1  -  http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-173350-e78d5076.html

lolrob - 43 affe82- 42

Probably the most varied game of the series. I open up swindler/potion on a board with only university and affe goes for trade route/island. I've never been for the early trade route/buying green, but I've seen it work before. It wasn't going to here though, as our turn threes demonstrate. affe plays 5 coppers, buying a duchy. lolrob plays a swindler, trashing affe's trade route into a silver. affe is now left with a deck of only green and treasure and basically has to start again. Despite this it was extremely close, and I only edged out affe by a single point.

Game 2 - (missed the log)

Feel bad about missing the log, as affe really outplayed me, going for a pawn/peddler/vineyard strategy that I saw but dismissed, going instead for a fairly basic big money/steward deck. Misclick on my last turn may have led to the loss, throne rooming a governer for gaining golds rather than the extra cards that likely would have gotten me to 8 that turn which would let me buy the last province and win. But well played by affe.

Game 3 - http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-180619-8fc52619.html

lolrob - 63 affe82 - 33

The only real whitewash of the series, affe plans to go straight up bishop forcing me to get green while he trashes golds for points. But it's hard to ignore witch, even in a chapel game, and the early ten curses that I give him in ~6 turns kills his deck letting me get a big lead

Game 4 - http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-182616-419e0b0b.html

affe82 - 25 lolrob - 18

Poorly played on my part, well played on affe's part, it seems there was a second whitewash in this series. Affe gets the early young witch, early few minions and from there I was playing catchup the whole time. Nice use of baron as well to get extra buys/estates which ended the game.

Game 5 - http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-183627-c5f7bc96.html

lolrob - 77 affe82 - 60

Easily the worst kingdom set I've ever played. Four actions, three special victory cards and three special treasures. Did I mention they're among the least interesting actions victory cards and treasures? Cache, Colony, Fairgrounds, Haggler, Platinum, Potion, Royal Seal, Scout, Silk Road, Stash, Upgrade, Vineyard, and Watchtower. Thanks to the auto picker for making it a colony game too. I went watchtower/upgrade, getting some really nice use out of watchtower's on deck eg
— lolrob's turn 12 —
lolrob plays an Upgrade.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action.
... trashing a Province.
... gaining a Platinum.
... ... revealing a Watchtower.
... ... putting the Platinum on the deck.
lolrob plays an Upgrade.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action.
... trashing a Silver.
... gaining a Scout.
... ... revealing a Watchtower.
... ... trashing the Scout.
lolrob plays a Watchtower.
... drawing 4 cards.
lolrob plays a Copper, a Platinum, 2 Silvers, and a Gold.
lolrob buys a Colony.
I got to five colonies fairly quickly, and affe did a nice job of catching, but 50 points in five cards is hard to argue with.

Game 6 - http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-184750-6b1228ec.html

lolrob - 36 affe82 - 25

Fairly standard game, both of us aiming to play the most mountebanks and then just big money essentially. Unfortunately affe82 went for the early victory cards again, buying duchies at every chance from turn 15 onwards, and estates from turn 18. This allowed me to just buy golds and wait for province hands without worrying too much about the score. Buying a curse is always a nice way to end the game too.

Thanks heaps to affe82 for the games, who stayed up til 4am to fit my availabilities. You gave me a run for my money and at no point did I see you as an easy opponent, well played.

Witch Division, 22:43 -- Danno77 over Kirian in a 4-1 blowout upset.  Good luck to Danno... and good luck to his opponents, you might need it. :)

(I'm glad, at least, that I'm not the highest upset.)

Kirian already posted the results: {Witch Division: Danno77(Rank 42) defeats Kirian (Rank 23) 4 games to 1, with a tie as well. }, but I wanted to add the gamelogs....

Game 1: Danno77 wins 41-21
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-181210-da4938a1.html
We both head for stewards and rabbles, but Kirian farmlands an early gold into a province which ends up hurting his economy too much in the long run.

Game 2: Danno77 and Kirian tie 48-48
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-182421-dca7dd29.html
We both went crossroads and heavy green deck, I ended up with more nobles while Kirian got to the provinces first. The decks became so green that with only 1 prov and 1 estate left of Victory cards on the board, I had to end it in a tie.

Game 3: Danno 77 wins 82-49
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-184004-4d919b10.html
Both grab spies, and a rabble, make our way towards Hoards given the sheer number of green cards available...but Kirian suffers extraordinarily bad luck as my spies hit his hoards just about every time. He retaliates with Possession, but the gold deficit let me shoot ahead quickly and finish out provs in this colony game.

Game 4: Danno77 wins 64-49
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-184820-0471b6df.html
My ambassador into big money with Council Room just got rolling a little faster than Kirian who opted for the second ambassador beforehand.

Game 5: Kirian wins 36-29
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-185615-08fb2979.html
I head straight into Fishing Village/Torturer while Kirian only does so after Treasure mapping his way to golds. I had a chance to tie this one late, but got greedy and went for the win only to ultimately get beat.

Game 6: Danno77 wins 42-19 {Kirian resigned}
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-190654-a405b70e.html
I went first and that allowed me to strike first with cutpurse which kept Kirian behind early on and let me build to Hunting Parties and golds sooner.

Good games all, though some poor runs of luck for Kirian certainly aided my wins. Thanks for the games, Kirian!

Not a lot to comment on here, but dang, was moat effective in that fourth game!

In the Gardens Division yoz (21) wins 4 - 0 over sniprpenguin (44). Thanks very much for the games.

Game 1: sniprpenguin 0 - 47 yoz
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-182333-7d292edf.html
This Colony game featured Vineyards. King's Court and Governor looked like they would be the interesting actions here, with Pawn supporting extra buys. sniprpenguin opened Governor-Pawn, and I went Loan-Potion toward Universities, hoping to be able to catch up in the Governorship race. The Universities certainly did help, as did Governor remodeling -- I turned a Potion into the last Governor on sniprpenguin's turn. sniprpenguin seemed to turn towards money as I increased my King's Courts, Pawns, and Smithies. After just 12 turns, the game ended in one fell swoop as King's Courting all those actions drew my whole deck, the Governors emptying the Pawns and the money buying out the Smithies.

Game 2: sniprpenguin 38 - 40 yoz
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-183005-0d6e24b5.html
This game was pretty darn close. Border Villages gave us an excess of actions here. I went for a Tactician and more Hunting Parties, sniprpenguin for more Harvests. sniprpenguin got to an early Province lead, and I only hoped I could catch up from being able to cycle through to my Monuments more often. Turns 15-16, as luck would have it, sniprpenguin drew $7 twice and I drew $>=8. The second time, sniprpenguin decided to buy a Gold, and could have won if that were a Duchy instead. Finally on turn 17, sniprpenguin bought the last Province, coming up short.

Game 3: sniprpenguin 26 - 41 yoz
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-183635-35e52d81.html
Grand Market and Possession on the board?! Okay, neither of those made a real difference. Rather, it was Bishops and Witches that counted. Probably the early break was that on turn 5, sniprpenguin passed up a chance at $5 by trashing a copper from my Bishop, while I'd gotten $5 on turn 3 and played my Witch on turn 5.

Game 4: sniprpenguin 34 - 51 yoz
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-184916-86e0e2bc.html
Ambassadors early, Trade Routes late (worth $5 at the end, thanks to Harems and Dukes). I was slightly more successful on both ends. Despite both of us investing heavily in Lighthouses, they worked out better for their +$1 than for their protection from Ambassadoring.

The series between tom_servo (2 wins) and !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!… (4 wins):

(Exclams wins 57-34)
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/28/game-20111128-151714-2a9c4bb9.html
Minion/mountebank board, I open with lighthouses, he opens with silver/MV. I luck into early mountebanks on turns 4 and 6. I land a few curses before his lighthouses start showing up, and even after they do, I am lucky enough to keep landing curses. With my curse advantage, minion/MV/mountebank/peddler/lighthouse synergize nicely to finish the game.

(Exclams wins 32-23)
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-193334-98bdb3f9.html
Ghost ship/laboratory/university board, we open with similar play. However, we split the laboratories 7/3 and I end up playing GS more than twice as many times. I'm not sure why the lab split was so asymmetric. First turn advantage?

(Exclams wins 49-44)
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-194607-65219bfa.html
My slow scrying pool engine barely catches up in time. We both open cutpurse/lookout in a colony game, and jockey for peddlers. By the time I pick up a potion and scrying pool, he has two platinums, and I'm worried scrying is too slow. Finally my engine starts firing, just in time. Both of us whiff once at the final colony, but we end up splitting, and my lone province decides the game.

(tom_servo wins 39-25)
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-195328-1cd06698.html
Ambassador/scheme fight. I buy more schemes and fill him with copper, but he keeps drawing to $8 anyway with library. My fool's golds aren't enough, I never lead the province race, and he always has more points.

(tom_servo wins 32-24)
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-200502-db306450.html
KC/lab/familiar board. I wrongly assume that winning the curse race is the key to victory. He skips familiar entirely in favor of a single trader (I eventually cooperate by pounding my first KC'd familiar into it). I miss my first familiar purchase, and he snags the first KC just as I finally get a familiar. I give him all 10 curses, but his high silver density lets him keep buying provinces. On turn 22, holding TR/KC/lab I almost typed 'gg', but whiff on the final province, which he buys easily to win.

(Exclams wins 64-29)
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/01/game-20111201-201629-521007d1.html
Minion/HT/peddler/worker's village in a colony game. An early HT helps me monopolize the minions, leaving me long lucrative action chains with multiple buys.

Thanks for the fun games, tom_servo. See you around.

ruinmysleep (Gardens seed 48) and I (seed 17) played the first two games of our tourney yesterday, then had to adjourn until Friday, mostly because I was an inadvertent jerk and showed up 25 minutes late when I thought I was showing up 5 minutes early.

Here are the two game logs so far, both of which contained a lot of tactical play and came down to a single buy in the end.

Game 1: rspeer 37 - ruinmysleep 36. This game was largely defined by Sea Hag, but we both opened Trading Post / Cellar after some deliberation. The main difference in our decks was that ruinmysleep went for Golems and bought two of them, while I bought two more Golds than he did.

In the end, we both had thoroughly clogged decks, with Duchies and Curses gone from the supply, and an approximately tied score. One might say that ruinmysleep fell victim to the little-known "penultimate Estate rule", letting me buy the last Estate to win by one point. But that's not entirely true, because he really needed that penultimate estate to tie the score, and it may very well have been true that there was a higher probability of me whiffing and failing to get $2 than there was of him getting $8.

Game 2: ruinmysleep 59 - rspeer 64. This was a very tense Colony game where 7 of the kingdom cards cost $5. The board was not conducive to mega-combos, but it did have Hunting Party to at least draw mega-hands before ending it with a terminal.

We both opened suboptimally in a way. I believed I saw the opportunity for an IGG rush, though its counter (Trader) was on the board; I decided that Trader was irrelevant because it was a colony game and Ghost Ship would be a far better terminal to have. But then again, letting someone get away with an IGG rush makes Colony itself irrelevant, and Trader doesn't need to be played to stop IGG.

So I opened IGG/Haven. He opened Contraband/Haven. Contraband was probably ruinmysleep's downfall; it let him have his choice of the $5s often, but I could deny him gold, platinum, and large victory cards for quite a while, especially because Hunting Party would basically reveal how much money he could spend. Hunting Party likes to have +buys with it, and Contraband was the only +buy, but man, Contraband sure doesn't like Hunting Party. And yet this didn't slow him down as much as you would think.

He picked Trader (and Haven) on his Contraband turn despite my convoluted rationalizations, so I had to give up on the IGG rush after a single IGG. 23 Hunting Party and Ghost Ship-ful turns later, his Contraband let me deny him the Province he would need to win, and I took it instead.

I'm happy to be up 2-0 so far, but neither of these games was an easy win. To be continued...

Robz888 defeats Wingnut 4-2-1 in Gardens 31-34 match. Sadly for me I must say.

Game 1 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111130-184917-0b49d0f7.html

Both of us opened with Moneylender but his activated Tournaments overcame my money approach in this game. 33-30 Robz

Game 2 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111130-185550-93edc3ea.html

Another mirror opening. Interestingly it was Monument/Ambassador in a game with no villages. The decks ultimately ended up pretty similar, but my preference of Bank over Gold and some good draws to win the Ambassador duel gave me a fairly easy win. 45-28 Wingnut

Game 3 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111130-190257-6d2fd5c1.html

I made the mistake of opening Noble Brigand to try and cripple my opponent early and paid for it with a Grand Market beatdown. 50-33 Robz

Game 4 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111130-190853-23eb0b02.html

I had the 1st player advantage and cruised with a combination of Ironworks, Conspirator, Scheme and Gardens. Poor Robz never really had a chance, especially with a 5-2 opening draw that left him in trouble from the start. 29-13 Wingnut and 2-2 for the series.

Game 5 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111130-191727-25ddcaa8.html

Probably the most interesting game as both Sea Hag and Trader were in play. Both of us opened Sea Hag (myself with 5 leading to a Sea Hag/nothing opening) and both turned a good number of curses into silvers. Of note, I was used Haggler to pick up Peddler with Gold a couple of times and the Inns allows us to play Sea Hag lots because of the on gain shuffle, even though most of those on both sides were turned into silvers by the trader. Quite honestly, both of us were quite unlucky on our Sea Hag plays. I ultimately stole a draw with a lucky draw on my final turn. Draw

Game 6 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111130-192442-525e0bc9.html

Intense Chapel, King's Court, Torturer Game. It was ultimately decided by Robz getting King's Court-Torturer off more than me and me taking the curses and not having enough time to Chapel them all off before the game ended. 28-25 Robz

Game 7 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111130-193349-5da9a719.html

The game popped up and in came Scrying Pool. I hate Scrying Pool and the game surprisingly went 24 turns even though Wharf, Fishing Village and Scrying Pool were all in play. Midgame, I was trailing in provinces and decided to switch to Gardens and extend the game. It almost worked. I came back to lead the game (not that I knew at the time) going into the last turn. I  was only able to buy an estate and a copper. Robz finished it with a Duchy and Estate and got a 1 point win, the turn before I would have reached 50 cards and put the game away with my 6 Gardens. Robz 55-54 to take the series.

Game 1 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111201-143100-3ab7caa6.html
Michael Harris 80-Benguin 11:
Game was a perfect minion board with Festival-Minion-Oasis-Feast
I win the minions 7-3 and get all the colonies
Game 2 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111201-143502-ca4a9b9e.html
Benguin 66-Michael Harris 43:
Big-Money game with him going for Bishop-BM-Venture and me for Bridge-BM-Venture. I play sloppy in this game and underbuy a lot more than I should and the VPs from the Bishop keep me from trying for just the colony split.
Game 3 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111201-144954-0ca2e846.html
Michael Harris 4-Benguin -1:
This was an ugly game with Ambassador and Torturer+Actions: He opens double Amb and I open Amb-Horse Traders-Amb
I pick up a province and duchy and end it on piles on my last turn.
Game 4 http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111201-145852-0c0afa5f.html
Michael Harris 40-Benguin 21
We both open Margrave-nothing but I get really good shuffle luck and pick up the first familiar on turn 4. Also I pick up Menageries while he picks up shanty towns.
Game 5
Benguin 23-Michael Harris 21:
http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111201-150513-92c5caa2.html
I go for IGG rush while he builds an alchemist stack. Because its a colony game Vault gives lets him turn the curses into enough money for colonies and I can't keep up
Game 6
Michael Harris 66-Benguin 44:
He grabs a quick lead with 2 mountebanks but my lab lead and superior trashing lets me build up to colonies while he is stuck at province
Good games from Benguin they were all pretty close and could have gone either way (except for the first one :P

Congratulations to gamesou, it was a well-deserved win!
I made some mistakes and you're simple losing if you are making too many of them ;) But even without them gamesou probably would have won. Some remarks from my side:

castrock 40 - gamesou 35 (25 turns). Illustrates that IGG are powerful ... I thought that 3 early masquerades would be enough to send back the curses, but no !
I think Loan in addition to Masquerade was a bit better with IGG than silver. However, we both would have done better with a Forge. Silvers and IGG could be forged to Provinces, IGG and Coppers to Duchies.

gamesou 84 - castrock 71 (31 turns).
You read the board better, my play was simply too slow. Loan didn't trash more than a single Copper, and I should have bought Warehouse instead of Develop to find more Fools' Golds. Develop was really nice for you, right. I saw the possibility of developing Silver into Silk Road + Estate, but overlooked Fairgrounds + Silk Road.
Once I wasn't fast enough to end the game early, there was nothing I could do. I was inspired from a game a played the day before, my first game with Fool's Gold. My 2 Ambassadors were crushed buy a Fool's Gold rush with the support of Moat and a late Young Witch.

gamesou 58 - castrock 49 (22 turns).
I assume it is never a good idea to trash your first Silver witht Bishop instead of an Estate. I just miss-clicked, this made it more difficult ;) However, once or twice there was the chance to win if I draw the right 5 of 6 cards, but it didn't happen.

gamesou 40 - castrock 31 (19 turns).
Buying a Black Market was the first mistake. It was a too high risk that I really get Swindler or a curser. Once I got, I should have skipped the Gold for a Duchy. Even without swindling a Duchy or Duke, I would have had good chances for a win.
(Forgot to save the log)

Quote
gamesou 55 - castrock 45. By far the less fun game. There was a Minion/Pawn/Grand Market/Outpost engine that castrock ignored to rush for Dukes. I guess I clicked 20 more times than you during this game, castrock !
Right, this wasn't a duke game, but I tried.
