These are the results of a beautiful match in the Witch division between two prospective graduate students -- Dorestu (forum name Tejayes, rank #16 in the division) and Tapicella (forum name Kalawaraka, rank #49). Before the match, we agreed to no Black Markets or Possessions and to start with identical hands. Whether it was by simple forgetfulness or the lack of desire between the two of us, we did not use the point tracker or veto mode. The results are as follows:

Game 1: Dorestu 36-29 Tapicella
Game 2: Tapicella 49-43 Dorestu
Game 3: Dorestu 67-45 Tapicella
Game 4: Tapicella 41-45 Dorestu
Game 5: Tapicella 38-34 Dorestu
Game 6: Dorestu 50-13 Tapicella

Game 1:

I decided to open Potion/Chapel, hoping to create a reliable Alchemist-powered deck. Tapicella also opted for Chapel, but also took a Fishing Village right away. I felt the power of Fishing Village wouldn't be crucial, but I took one anyway for who knows what reason. It turns out that the belated coin helped me out quite considerably, as it often gave me just enough for a Province or other crucial cards. The end game saw more focus on the Embargoed Duchies than Provinces since neither of us had very strong coin power, but my early ability to reliable nab Provinces sealed the game before it truly ended. It didn't hurt me that Tapicella's first FV got yogurted.

Game 2:

Perhaps owing too much to Fishing Village's power in the last game, I opened up with FV while Tapicella stuck with Silver. I also thought I could put it to use with Courtyard. Yeah, that was a mistake. I did catch a small break when Tapi's Militia got yogurted, but I lost an opportunity to nab a Hunting Party or Stables, either of which would have been more helpful than FV/Courtyard, methinks. Tapi bought the first Colony, then bought a Province. I thought that might be enough of a slowdown for me to overtake my opponent. I did my best to make up for my early blunder, but Tapi's HP power assured enough Colonies to make that Province the deciding factor. Even if I had opted for a Province instead of the last Colony, I felt that Tapi had it in the bag, so the match was now tied.

Game 3:

Hoo boy. We open 2/5 on a board with Courtyard and Counting House as our 2/5 options. All of the cards were terminals, as well. Whether Tapicella had the same idea or just copied me, I can't be sure, but we both decided to skip the Courtyard and open Sea Hag instead. Tapi got an early break by Sea Hagging my Sea Hag (after I had played it once, though). Salvager was important for both of us, but Tapi had a plan -- Salvage Sea Hag away to get a Forge. That did not go as well as Tapi had hoped, as Tapi's Forge did not come with proper batteries. I bought a Forge myself, and it treated me much more kindly -- I tossed my Salvager and Sea Hag along with a Silver (and a Copper) to get the first Colony, then I forged that away along with two more Coppers and a Curse to empty the Colony pile a bit. Salvaging away the Forges was the icing on the cake, giving me win #2.

Game 4:

Ah, the classic Minion race. Thanks to taking a Smithy over an Island, Tapi had the first crack at it, but chose Upgrade instead. I got a Smithy eventually, and the race was fully on now. I ended up with 6 to Tapi's 4, which was likely the key to my victory. It didn't hurt that my Smithy was awfully kind to me, often giving me just enough Treasure to buy what I really wanted. Tapi tried to make up for losing the Minion race with Venture, but it wasn't enough. I was now one win away from victory...

Game 5:

...So my deck decided to stop being kind. We both open Caravan/Masquerade, but it did not help that all of my Estates got saddled with the Caravan, and I didn't feel like taking an Embargo or Herbalist. Tapi got rid of two Estates right away, which helped in the procurement of a Mountebank and two Golds before I could even get to $5. Okay, so not getting a Silver soon enough didn't help either. Stupid me. I eventually got two Mountebanks while Tapi stuck with the one. In the end, Tapi ended up with 6 Curses to my 1... but Tapi had so many Provinces that not even aggressive Duchy-ing and such could help.

Game 6:

After five highly enjoyable and competitive games, it's a bit of a shame that the final game had to be such a blowout. First, I opened double Ambassador, while Tapicella opted for a Bishop along with an Ambassador. While not a terrible opening by itself (it is a Level +4 combo according to CouncilRoom.com), it only assisted me in my deck-cleaning goal. Perhaps the bigger error on Tapi's account, though, was underestimating Governor. Tapicella admitted to not seeing the +1 Action on it, while I used it to full effect. Tapi also neglected Ghost Ship while preferring Inn, which was not very effective. I wished my opponent the best of luck at school as I finished my monopolization of the Provinces.

In the Chapel division:
cherdano (seed 20) 4 - Lord Turner (seed 45) 3

This was a very close match that I was certainly very lucky to win!

cherdano 44 - Lord Turner 32
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-184023-3ca319ea.html

I won with an Ill-Gotten Gains rush on a board where I am certainly not sure it's the right strategy:
Colony game with Vault, Venture, Farm Villages, Oases - if there is ever a board without curse givers where IGG rush it's wrong maybe it's this one?

cherdano 31 - Lord Turner 39
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-190154-85685f27.html

I lost a Torturer race. Better to buy a gold or a torturer with a very early $6? It got surprisingly close in the end, actually.

cherdano 41 - Lord Turner 43
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-191843-afdd5d92.html

Not sure we played this right - Colony game with Goons and Farm Villages / Vaults/ Ghost ships as the only draw support. We both went for Goons only, whereas it's maybe better to mostly play big money with a few goons thrown in?

cherdano 79 - Lord Turner 66
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-193858-e27aacd2.html

On a board with ambassador and 5/2 opening with both started with a (soft) ambassador counter instead of ambassador: Trader/nothing or Horse Trader/nothing.

cherdano 21 - Lord Turner 31
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-194806-7fa0f12d.html

Masquerade/Silver lost to Sea Hag/Silver.

cherdano 40 - Lord Turner 33
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-195920-60bcaf33.html

Here I was definitely very lucky to win - two $7 draws for Lord Turner with one Province left. We probably both should have picked up a monument early on.

cherdano 47 - Lord Turner 28
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-201337-78fdb8f4.html

Sea Hag/nothing opening beat Envoy/nothing.

For what it's worth, folks, I read all these reports.  Glad to see everyone seems to be having good games.

Logs aren't absolutely necessary, since I doubt anyone would dispute a match outcome, but they're nice if you're writing up game reports.  The score is more helpful, but only if you want to see your game scores in the bracket.  Otherwise I just fill them in as 1-0.  Posting the division you're in is the most help of all, since it saves me from having to look up which bracket you're in.

If your round 2 opponent is already determined (check the brackets), feel free to start playing with him / her.  No need to wait.

Chapel Division, 2-63 seed slot. ehunt advances over dandre 4-0. thanks for the games!

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-201933-9e78def6.html
-my unlucky early split in a mountebank game is countered by my very lucky propensity to draw salvager and peddler together

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-203218-ff533312.html
-ambassador vs remake. at one point, i thought i'd cleverly end the game by ambassadoring dandre a duchy - except, wait, that trick only works when two other piles are empty...  fortunately i got the last province and barely won (i would have lost without the last province even if i hadn't made the crazy duchy error).

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-204105-ded31352.html
-another mountebank game, but this time i'm the one who splits 5-2; dandre foregoes mountebank in the hopes of a fool's gold rush, but he doesn't draw them together

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-205243-82c35caa.html
-hyperpowered trade routes and wharves. many turns in a row where the current player can't quite end it and thus has to worry that the next player will.

Thief Division, 20-45 seed slot. Guy Srinivasan advances over cdh in a 4-2 round.

A close game, minor strategy differences - I stuck mostly to money, cdh went for some Border Villages + Vault/Bazaar/Bishops.

cdh buys a Coppersmith to start off, which I think led to the loss (though he later Tradered it in for four Silver).

Antony and I just finished our matchup in the Gardens division (1-64).  I advanced in a 4-1 round which felt a lot closer than that.  I forgot to get isotropic logs for three of the games, so I'll update them all once councilroom scrapes the data.  We played with random setup, random hands (forgot to check identical starting hands) and with point counter.

Game 1: (forgot the log, chwhite wins) Hamlet, Salvager, Grand Market, Peddler were all here; there was one turn in midgame where I bought a Grand Market and all six remaining Peddlers.  This was the only game that wasn't at least somewhat close.

Game 2: (forgot the log again, geez, antony wins) A Sea Hag-dominated slugfest.  I'm too cautious about clashing terminals, whereas antony gets the Swindler and the Horse Traders and a well-deserved win.

Game 3: (http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-213135-6cc64590.html ; chwhite wins) I try to go mono-Venture, antony basically goes for Rabble and money, which was frankly a better idea when Loan is your only trashing.  I am extremely lucky to escape with a win here, antony deserved this one.

Game 4: (forgot the log.  Bah!  chwhite wins) I get Ghost Ship, antony gets Jester and Outpost, we both get Council Room and cash.  My two Ghost Ships had the courtesy to collide every single time and miss the reshuffle a couple times too, but I pull out a double-Province buy at the end to win narrowly.

Game 5: (http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-215322-05bac61f.html ; chwhite wins) Trading Post plus money was the obvious route to get Colonies here, we both pursued it.  The difference here was that I avoided terminal collisions by buying Silver and Pearl Diver (yes, Pearl Diver!) instead of multiple Monuments.

Thanks for the games antony, they were well-played and enjoyable, and you definitely deserved better than the 64 seed.   :D

Here are the logs.
Game 1 (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111129-210628-cdd8c67a.html) 14-31: never in contention, a newbie mistake I guess.
Game 2 (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111129-211709-34b223a1.html) 32-26: only win :p
Game 3 (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111129-213135-6cc64590.html) 43-45
Game 4 (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111129-214352-8e0bf3c8.html) 62-64: second 2-point loss in a row...
Game 5 (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111129-215322-05bac61f.html) 61-79: multiple monuments was a big mistake indeed, they collided more than a couple of times when a silver instead would have been much more useful.
Anyways, quite interesting games, thanks to chwhite for staying and commenting about my play.

Gardens Division - (6) mith d. (59) MORIN_FTW, 4-1

Game 1: MORIN_FTW 33-20 mith
Game 2: mith 54-45 MORIN_FTW
Game 3: MORIN_FTW 22-32 mith
Game 4: MORIN_FTW 34-36 mith
Game 5: MORIN_FTW 25-32 mith

Game 1 was a Hunting Party/Chapel start which went badly for me; I compounded things by trying to go for Tournaments (and getting blocked by his early Provinces), and my Followers weren't enough to slow him down in the end.

Game 2 was more Chapel, this time with Torturer, Ghost Ship, and Walled Village on the board. My shuffles cooperated more this time and I trashed down to a deck playing multiple Torturers and a Ghost Ship every turn. He was able to trash away the curses with Chapel and Bishop, but I was able to build a comfortable lead in the meantime.

Game 3 was a 5/2 with weak starting 5s; I went for Outpost over Explorer. I rushed the Great Halls with Ironworks, then transitioned to BM, while he went for Nobles (too slow on this board).

Game 4 was an Alchemist game I really didn't deserve to win. Made a mistake buying Smugglers over Silver early (which is only useful if I have it on a turn he doesn't buy Alchemist). Somehow managed to split the Alchemists anyway, and when he failed to draw his Potion after jumping to a 3-0 lead in Provinces, my deck came through with Cartographer and Cellar to cycle, and the now-useful Smugglers keeping pace on Duchies while I climbed back.

Game 5 was a Familiar race, and I transitioned to Jack of all Trades and Governors while he went for Remake. (I didn't realize when I trashed my last Curse, taking me back down to 2 point Fairgrounds, but that didn't end up mattering.)

Thanks for the games, MORIN_FTW.

Witch Division : RisingJaguar (12) - prospero III (53)

RisingJaguar wins 4-0 in all very close matches.

Game 1: 48 - 38 - http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-123749-3b5aa6e0.html
First game was a normal game Baron/silver big money game with the odd exception that all estates/duchies were bought out for the last 5 turns with the last province being the deciding factor.  Lucky I squeaked it out the last province!

Game 2: 44 - 11 - http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-124620-fd3a6480.html
MUCH closer than the score would indicate.  Tourney/chapel barely edges out Treasure map/chapel at key points (first provinces and followers).  Unfortunately for Prospero III, a couple turns with KC and no significant actions as well as finding treasure maps longer than usual did him in.

Game 3: 66 - 56 - http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-130429-0491c48e.html
A dull board with only one card $4 or less.  After realizing I was behind at the midpoint, i went for vineyards instead.  Using mine for insta-potions probably saved me.

Game 4: 69 - 50 - http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-131859-ea22eff4.html
Probably the only mistake I thought Prospero made all series, not going tunnels.  After I saw that, I knew i could drag the game out as long as I could for gardens/tunnel/duchies.

Props to Prospero III for very fun games.

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-135857-8e4a5bdd.html

Was very very close. In fact I thought mDuo13 had me for sure! But a few mistakes on both our parts in most games made it quite a learning experience and it truly was a pleasure to meet and play with mDuo13.

I hope we will get to play again in the future,
The Adventurer

Chapel bracket Serishmus (33) defeats okt (32) 4-2

Game 1: Serishmus 33-17 okt.  http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-181253-95587feb.html
Technically okt resigned here, after I built up a big lead.
Game 2: okt 49-42 Serishmus.  http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-175018-2167f3b2.html
I tried to go for a lot of bishop points, but didn't get big money nearly fast enough and never caught up.  I got closer than I would have thought.
Game 3: okt 48-40 Serishmus.  http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-175504-39e95e49.html
Reviewing this game, I could have won with a Province buy on my last turn, but I thought that would lose me the game because of a tied score.  Whoops.  I pretty much went farming village + monument, while okt spammed the Harems.  As you can see we were almost dead even.
Game 4: Serishmus 41-40 okt.  http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-180327-89a4984c.html
I went for Big Money plus help, while okt tried the always interesting NV + treasure map gambit.  I'm really not sure why I bought a Gold on my last turn.  Extremely close outcome.
Game 5: Serishmus 42-27 okt.  http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-181253-95587feb.html
I used Islands to sock away some stuff (I love that card) and happened to get both Mountebank and Wharf out of the Black Market.  That was pretty much the game.
Game 6:Serishmus 54-52 okt.  http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-181735-8b1fa177.html
The clincher.  We did veto mode on okt's suggestion (probably because of the BM in game 5).  I don't normally buy tribute, but with both of us pushing treasures hard I figured it would be worth $4 more often than not.  I barely squeaked it out.

timchen (allfail) defeats Forge!!! in the thief division, 4-0

Those are fun games. I certainly hope we will have chance to play further. On the other hand, I don't think I won by playing very high quality strategies; some good luck saved me.

Here are the logs:
game 1
game 2
game 3
game 4

Thanks Staples, is was a pleasure to play with you.  A brief rundown of the games:

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-191409-f976b645.html
This Colony game had an unusual set of cards.  We both started out with Jack of All Trades to accelerate our deck early.  The big difference was probably the King's Courts, which didn't have strong enough combo possibilities to justify their purchase in this set.  My final deck was a BM/Tactician style set up.

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-192337-ebbf1667.html
An alchemist race.  I went straight for the alchemists while Staples grabbed a Bishop first.  I was worried about the number of points he was getting off of that Bishop, but in the end I just barely had enough buy power to push past that.  In was a close affair though, you'll notice that in turn 18 my Alchemist stack collapsed, which had me in a tough spot.

Perhaps the most brutally I've been punished by a straight IGG deck.  I was hoping to use upgrade to outlast the IGGs with upgrades, and take advantage of Staple's then-diluted deck, but I realized far too late that this game was going to end on piles, not provinces.  A late scramble to garb a few points wasn't nearly enough, and Staples did a great job of picking up some points and clearing out the tourneys to end it.

A tournament game that could've gone wither way.  Smugglers and Bishop added an interesting twist to the mix.  I hit my province to grab the Followers just a turn before Staples, which was probably the deciding factor...other than that we seemed neck and neck here.

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-195334-b1ddab25.html
I was gunning for KC/Scheme, which I'd heard about just the other day, and man is it a brutal combo. Staples made a strong early rush which had me worried, but once I got up and running, KC-Bishop-Peddler put the game away.

All in all, a very interesting set of games...it certainly felt much closer than the final tally indicates.  Again, a pleasure playing with you, Staples!

Witch Division: Calamari (32) vs. hgfalling (33)

Played 7 (!!!) incredibly close games with hgfalling but came out slightly ahead.  We had some really interesting spreads, especially game #4, in which hgfalling had 5 provinces but I somehow managed to win off of silk roads.

Yikes, there are a lot of good game reports in here. I wish there were more time for me to read them all!

mischiefmaker over KMueller 4-0, seeds 11 v 54 in the Chapel Division.

Game 1: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-195042-9d377c83.html
mischiefmaker opens Shanty Town/Silver, picks up a Margrave early, and pretty much plays BM (adds another Margrave later). KMueller detours for a Scrying Pool and picks up some Treasuries, and that was the difference, 39-30.

Afterwards, KMueller said that he had expected the game to feature more Actions, since there were readily available sources of +buy and Peddler; hence the Scrying Pool. But as it turned out, neither player bought a single Peddler.

Game 2: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-195819-ae57f6b4.html
mischiefmaker opens Smithy/Silver and plays BM again, adding an Apprentice late to help accelerate the end game.
KMueller opened the same, but went for a Steward and Upgrade early to help thin the deck, and couldn't catch up.

Game 3: I mistakenly saved the wrong log, but will post one from councilroom once it comes up tomorrow.
mischiefmaker opens Silver/Silver with an eye towards building a Hunting Party deck with a single Gold and a single Merchant Ship.
KMueller opens Island/Silver, clears out a couple estates, and does the same. This one ends with mischiefmaker eking out a 1-point victory when KMueller buys a late Island and he buys a Duchy.

Game 4: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/30/game-20111130-202839-9e0fa6cc.html
Oof, this one was brutal. We predicted beforehand that this game was going to end in someone resigning; though that turned out not to be true, it was pretty lopsided. mischiefmaker manages to connect King's Court and Mountebank on turn 13...then again on turns 15, 16, and 19, and that was pretty much all she wrote.

Thanks to KMueller for his courtesy (not making me resign when my internet connection failed) and for some fun games!
