Here are the results for michaeljb vs cdnza, seeds 12 vs 53 in the Chapel Division.

michaeljb 4-2 cdnza

Game 1: michaeljb 31-37 cdnza
Game 2: michaeljb 35-10 cdnza
Game 3: michaeljb 29-29 cdnza
Game 4: michaeljb 45-35 cdnza
Game 5: michaeljb 38-40 cdnza
Game 6: michaeljb 48-24 cdnza
Game 7: michaeljb 24-15 cdnza

Game 1
I have previously had bad luck opening Warehouse/Tunnel, so I went for a Warehouse/Conspirator deck, picking up my Tunnels later. Unfortunately for me, cdnza hit both cards on Turn 3, and thrice discarded two Tunnels to the Warehouse.

Game 2
We both open Witch/nothing, and the game is fairly even for a while. On Turn 10, I hit my first $3 hand, buy a Swindler, and on Turn 11 turn his Witch into a Duchy. Very lucky for me, and the turning point of the game. Less luck-related, I went for Goons while cdnza did not, and a few key Inn buys right before the reshuffle paid off in my favor. I am curious as to how the game would have gone had I not been so fortunate with my Swindler.

Game 3
Essentially a Grand Envoy mirror match, fittingly ending in a draw. I mess around at the beginning Embargoing the Duchies to prevent Duchy/Duke shenanigans, and I also picked up a couple Royal Seals which helped make up the time I lost with Embargo.

Game 4
I open Remake/Silver against Conspirator/Silver, vaguely hoping to get a Conspirator/Alchemist/Scheme chain. Because I don't want a ton of Silvers, I went for Schemes (probably too) early, which caused me to play Remake quite a bit, and I ended up with one of the stranger decks I've made. I started greening with a deck of exactly a Silver, a Potion, a Remake, 1 Alchemist, 3 Conspirators, and 5 Schemes to consistently return 3 Conspirators and 2 Schemes. I bought Provinces on Turns 11-13, but started choking and the game continued on until Turn 20.

Game 5
A really weird board for me: Cellar, Develop, Duchess, Golem, Loan, Mine, Noble Brigand, Philosopher's Stone, Potion, Swindler, and Wishing Well. Not the board where you want to open 5/2, but hey, at least it was with the identical starting hands constraint. Big Money + Swindlers is probably best, but I try messing around with Mine and Noble Brigand too much, at point I misclicked and Mined a Silver into a Potion...I started Duchies maybe a little early, had the edge, but cdnza's deck managed to hit $8 again for the last Province.

Game 6
The most lopsided game of the series; I double up his score by ignoring both Hunting Party and King's Court. Here's a free tip for anyone bothering to read this: Trading Post/nothing is a far better opener than Hunting Party/nothing. In addition to the Post, I picked up a Smithy and a couple Banks and cruised to victory.

Game 7
I start drooling at the site of Border Village+Apprentice, and almost immediately kick myself for opening Spice Merchant/Silver. Silver/Silver would have been much better for hitting $6, and probably better overall, but I do manage to make use of the +Buy once or twice. His Saboteur was pretty successful in hitting my Apprentices, which ultimately just made the game a little longer.

Darboux/[MAD] Max (21) vs. Tables/[UWSFFS] I Eat Tables (44) - Chapel Division

Result: Darboux 2 - 4 Tables

Game 1: Darboux 30 - 19 Tables
Both of us play a simple Workshop-Gardens deck with Great Halls as buffer. With Darboux having first turn advantage and my workshops colliding, he gets to a considerable early advantage and goes 5-3 on Gardens. I have virtually no chance of winning, but try and bolster my deck with some money to grab a duchy or province. Obviously, it's not very effective.

Game 2: DNF
A more interesting familars game. Darboux went for a Potion to start, I got a Chancellor and Silver, with the intent of grabbing a potion soon after. Well, I then proceeded to grab two golds and a Forge, which I hoped would save me against curses and help put more curses into his deck. As it turned out he easily hit 3+P twice early, and I didn't trash quite as many curses as I'd have liked. At the time of disconnect my deck was probably a little weaker in buying power, but would ramp up quickly if/when I trashed some of those curses.

Game 2(b): Darboux 27 - 32 Tables
In what will become something of a theme for our games, a relatively heavy cursing potions game. This also sported no trashing, and Platinum/Colony. Both of us spot Border Village-Wharf niceness and other combos, but that becomes a main one. Darboux's deck is very heavy on them, and also grabs some cities as piles look set to empty, which I follow. Meanwhile, I grab a potion and familiars, while Darboux tries to accelerate past them. This doesn't work in his favor, as the curses slow him down considerably, and importantly enough for me to sneak a win by buying out the last two curses.

Game 3: Darboux 24 - 45 Tables
This will sound strange, but I wish Max had won this one. I loved his deck. Unfortunately for him, it just wasn't quite quick enough for him to get the win. This game had two very different decks, as the above might suggest... Darboux went for Scrying Pools (see, more potions) and Pawn, with some remodels to help clear non-actions out of the way. My deck was more traditional with a Young Witch (which became somewhat worthless as Max cleared the Pawns... which of course were the bane. I wasn't to know at the time he would), and a Harvest, which backfired spectacularly (hitting 4 coppers at one point, and two of my ~3 golds at another), but otherwise was very useful. Anyway, his deck was just too slow, and I won.

Game 4: Darboux 31 - 33 Tables
(Council Room link inserted). Yet again, there was a curser (Swindler in particular) which both of us got lucky with - but me moreso, which really is what decided the game. Max used Quarry effectively to grab about 3 markets in a single turn - which I promptly turned into Mines and Duchies. I managed to win simply because I hit one of his Duchies near the endgame, and he couldn't catch up.

Game 5: Darboux 43 - 25
Both of us had diverse strategies on this one. I intended to build a reasonable draw deck, using Haggler to grab Golds with Embassys, Embassys with Worker's Villages and the like. It didn't work so well, but Haggler was still useful. Both of us JoaT'd our decks down - I got unlucky and it missed the shuffle twice, but that's no excuse for how much better Max played this game than me, with his simple Expand/JoaT/Mandarin deck.

Game 6: Darboux 17 - 36 Tables
I built a Worker's Village/Torturer engine. It worked. Darboux did the same, but slower, and used a Cutpurse to slow me down early and a Hoard to Gold his deck in the meantime. I think I ended this game on piles just like an earlier one (or two...).

Overall I got reasonably lucky - I didn't feel I was much better than Max, if at all, but well, the results say I won, so I won. Thanks, Max for the games!

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Closer than the 4-0 makes it sound, some enjoyable games here.

#1: Swindlers and Torturers slowed up the game, I jumped for Duchies/Dukes first and managed to get more.
#2: Border Village/Witch was the premium buy, but I also grabbed some Gold and had an eye on Fairground, getting them to 6VP.
#3: He opened Talisman and got lots of actions, I opened Remake. I built up a lot of Silver and won straight on Provs.
#4: Governor game; very quick. He incorporated Forges which didn't give him an edge in speed, but left him two Estates down.

Thanks for the games, stickins.

olneyce (8 seed) vs. Redwoods (57 seed) in the Chapel division

olneyce wins 4-1, with one draw.  Some of the wins were razor thin, though.  This did not feel at ALL like an easy match against a low seed.  Really enjoyable games, most of which were extremely tense.

Game 1: olneyce 55 - 44 Redwoods
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-140740-0a595421.html
Laboratories, Nobles, Crossroads, and Hoard.  I started out 5/2, which let me get two parts of the engine before the first shuffle.  That was a huge difference.  I ended up 5-3 on Nobles, and obtained several of them using Hoard, so I had a ton of Gold, too.  A +buy could have really changed this game.  I was repeatedly hitting upwards of $15 dollars but had no way to use it.  And early in the game he had several hands with extra cash he couldn't spend.

Game 2: olneyce 54 - 54 Redwoods
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-142438-55f143db.html
The major defining feature he was an incredibly drawn-out and ugly endgame.  I opened Trader/Steward on a Hunting Party board, hoping to use the Trader to clear out the green a bit and give me the money to quickly purchase a few Hunting Parties.  I think the Trader was a bad buy, though.  I did use it twice early but then it was a dead card in my hand the rest of the game.  He bought Markets, which I thought was a mistake, but he did a much better job of early trashing, which meant he could consistently hit $8 early. He bought Provinces on three straight turns from 10-12 and I was really anxious.  So I started buying Duchies, hoping to eke out an advantage on Dukes - and use the superior drawing ability of my Hunting Parties to slog through the mess.  This worked surprisingly less well than I had hoped.

The 7th Province was bought on turn 17, but thanks to all the green neither of us was able to ever buy the 8th.  I won the Duke race 5-3, which was enough to salvage a draw.  But really, I had no business surviving this game.

Game 3: olneyce 40 - 38 Redwoods
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-143743-2a5ef18c.html
Fishing Villages + Cities.  I got the lion's share of the FVs (7-3), and we split the Cities.   The main difference is that he invested in Gold, while I went for engine parts.  I was pretty convinced 3/4 of the way through the game that I had made a big mistake.  His economy seemed a lot stronger.  I was up one Province after turn 17, but then he hit me with two Provinces and a Duchy the next two turns.  My big decision, with $6 on turn 18 was where to invest that.  I knew I needed to get one of the last two Provinces, was up by a point or two, and was about to trigger a reshuffle.  So I went for a second Baron and a Cellar.  I think that was the right call.  Certainly, I was only able to win because my turn 20 I used a Baron to bump myself up to $12.

Game 4: olneyce 23 - 22 Redwoods
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-145210-3ecaca30.html
Fishing Villages, Witches, and Remodel, and Peddler.  We split the curses and then mostly floundered.  My goal was to Remodel the Peddlers into Provinces, which I did do twice, but was not able to manage nearly enough.  I thought I could do that a couple times, build a solid lead, and then just deplete three piles (Curses, Fishing Villages, and Peddlers).  But he quickly caught up to me, so while I had plenty of opportunities to end the game, I was always trailing by a point or two.  We agreed after the game that he probably could have won if he had bought the last Fishing Village, but looking back at the log I don't think he was ever ahead, with the capability to buy.  He could have tied the game, but as first player would have still lost.  I eventually ended it on piles by Remodeling a couple Curses into Estates and buying the last one.

Game 5: olneyce 40 - 44 Redwoods
I forgot to grab the log on this one, unfortunately.  It was one of our most interesting games, with me going for Embassy+Fool's Gold (with the help of a Talisman snagged out of the Black Market) and him going for Goons.  I shifted my strategy in the middle of the second shuffle; I was originally going to go for Goons.  I'm not sure that was the right call.  If we had been racing for Provinces, I think I had the advantage.  But he let me snag the first six and then used one monster turn to take the last two.  That, plus VPs and a few Duchies was enough to take it.

Game 6: olneyce 42 - 23 Redwoods
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-152502-e9bb7824.html
This one was pretty straightforward.  I bought silver at 3, Caravans at 4, a Haggler and then Governors at 5, gold at 6, and Provinces at 8.  The Haggler meant I got a bunch of gold even while greening, and the Governors meant I could cycle to them quickly.  I never used the Governor as anything other than a super-Lab, which was not my intention.  But the economy from the Haggler meant that I never really needed it for anything else.

Thief Division, 27 - 38 Bracket

For the most part, these weren't really great games (through no fault of my opponent), and a lot of it game down to high variance hijinks, especially the tournament game.  I thought game 3 was sort of fun though; we both bought a lot of caches (they split 5-5) to power our gardens and to have the coppers serve as a buffer against familiar curses (which in turn actually hampered our ability to pass out curses).

nsnyder (10 seed) vs. jtotheonah (55 seed) in the Gardens division

nsnyder wins 4-1.  All but one of the games were quite close.

Game 1: nsnyder 59 - 55 jtotheonah
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-160812-6e3bf044.html
I had 5/2 and went first with Mountebanks in the build, but jtotheonah had a good comeback because I let him get all the alchemists.  Very close, he would have won if he'd had enough money for a province on his last turn.

Game 2: jtotheonah 29 - 33 nsnyder
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-161453-5fec0da4.html
An insane number of curse giving cards (sea hag, young witch, and mountebank).  I skipped the 4 cursers going for Jacks and then Mountebank, while jtotheonah picked up a sea hag.  A little less close than the score since jtotheonah bought the last province when down.

Game 3: jtotheonah 30 - 22 nsnyder
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-162124-9e8fac24.html
Lighthouse, Witch, Grand Market.  Jtotheonah bought a trading post and I didn't, which I think made the difference.  My usual theory is that you should never buy a trading post after turn 1, but with grand markets available and curses being handed out I think that was a mistake.

Game 4: nsnyder 42 - 13 jtotheonah
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-163033-690acf11.html
The only blowout.  Ambassadors do a number against familiars.  Ambassador+Minion = a lot of pain.

Game 5: jtotheonah 33 - 43 nsnyder
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-163702-b9ef240e.html
Torturer runs into tunnels.  Closer than the score makes it look, as he could have closed to within 1 on his last turn.  I think he bought a torturer not realizing what was going to happen with all my tunnels.  I played a little overaggressively assuming that he'd go for torturer when he was buying lighthouses, when he could have switched to royal seal or upgrade and I'd have been in big trouble with several tunnels and no way to activate except spies.

Fun series, thanks for the games!

Thief division: AJD beats nothingsperfect 4–1.

Despite the lopsided total score, a very close match:

Game 1
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-163718-fbed30f3.html
nothingsperfect 28 : 23 AJD
A Tournament-Masquerade mirror match. I drew my Merchant Ship dead off the Masquerade early and lost momentum that way; nothingsperfect didn't, and ended up with three Prizes.

Game 2
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-164340-21fcd38b.html
AJD 41 : 31 nothingsperfect
I bought an Upgrade instead of a Gold on my lucky $6 draw on turn 3, and then was kicking myself when nothingsperfect was able to buy four Golds before my next $6 hand. But I guess the head start on trashing paid off, since I was able to catch up in the end with my somewhat more concentrated deck. The lowly Woodcutter had a chance to shine in this game by letting me pick up some extra Peddlers, and by giving me a $14 Province+Gold buy.

Game 3
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-170335-25f8a2e6.html
AJD 89 : 81 nothingsperfect
Weird board with no $5 cards. We ended up going heavily into Bishops, and I was sure nothingsperfect had the game sewn up for a while. I think I eventually pulled out the win because I made a point of keeping at least a couple of Golds in my deck, so I could buy Provinces more often; nothingsperfect's deck started seizing up towards the end and didn't have enough Treasure to keep producing points.

Game 4
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-171213-66f53345.html
AJD 32 : 18 nothingsperfect
I opened double-Ambassador; nothingsperfect opened Chapel/Quarry and picked up a Swindler later. I won because I got three consecutive very lucky Menagerie turns, which allowed me to Ambassador some junk back to nothingsperfect while still having enough in hand for good buys.

Game 5:
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/29/game-20111129-171838-292b9dc9.html
AJD 36 : 35 nothingsperfect
We both went all-out for the Tunnel/Warehouse combo. I won on a lucky gamble: I had $7 and a Pawn in hand and could have played the Pawn for $1 to end the game on a tie, but instead I played it for +1 card, +1 buy and drew a Gold, letting me get the last Province and an extra Estate.

Nothingsperfect, thanks for five very good games!

chapel division
greatexpectations 4 - Wildstar 0
some good games, and a very friendly opponent.

Game 1 - scheme, peddler, salvager, we both went for a similar strategy.
Game 2 - i went gardens on a BV board.  Wildstar went with a hybrid strategy and i think played it better. he was unfamiliar with point tracker though and would have benefitted from knowing the score.
Game 3 - my BV/apprentice over his BV/minion.
Game 4 - Wildstar waited a little long to get a sea hag and fell behind.  colony game on piles.

I saw right away what nsnyder was going for with those Tunnels, but I didn't think my Torturer would hit them so often! Although it's worth noting that I Noble Briganded some of those Golds right back.

And seconded, great games and a gracious opponent.

Thief division: #6 Stealth Tomato vs. #59 Geefour

Geefour quickly goes up 2-0 to threaten the first major upset (including a 79-16 walloping in Game 2), but Stealth takes it down in 6 games. Great early-game play by Geefour nearly got him to 3-1. Well-played match, sir.

Thief bracket, 7-58, ackack-monomandan

ackack wins 4-1.

Scores:
monomandan 44, ackack 36

A weird start to the match. I went basically Tribute/BM, scored 3 Provinces by turn 9, and then never got another one.

ackack 38, monomandan 25

I really thought I was boned in this one. Familiar game, but Apothecary was also present and was a real lifesaver, giving me something useful to do with a turn 3 $2p. Despite falling behind 3-1 in early Familiars and pushing Potion, Apprentice and my one Familiar through a shuffle to score the second one, I manage to split curses and end up with a stronger economy. I guess the cycling effects of Apprentice/Apothecary were strong enough to make the Familiar deficit acceptable cursewise. This probably merits more checking out.

ackack 59, monomandan 53

Probably the most interesting game of the match, also the only Colony game. I opened Monument/Silver, monomandan opened Monument/Black Market. Black Market had a lot of useful cards, and early on his pulls were looking very good - Tournament, Throne Room, Chapel. After he pulled the Tournament I went to look at the Black Market deck and realized I needed to compete for some of these cards, but of course my first Black Market play gave me the choices of Bureaucrat, Duchess and an unaffordable Border Village. By the end I got some very nice stuff - Embassy, Border Village, Bishop - but early on it was looking grim.

I focused on getting as many Hunting Parties as possible - using my first $9+ turn to play Woodcutter and buy 2 Parties instead of Platinum - and buy a Mint with the dual plan of trashing a bunch of Coppers and eventually duplicating Platinums. (For some reason monomandan completely ignored Platinum.) Eventually the Parties made it possible to play lots of actions almost every turn, so many turns I played Mint, Woodcutter, Monument and Saboteur. The Saboteur did unusually well - hit the unique Throne Room, 2 Provinces and a Duchy in 5 plays - and I was able to close the game out with a double Province buy, as monomandan had been running down the Province pile. I believe this was a rush to try to take advantage of his early lead and facilitate his Tournament.

ackack 66, monomandan 41

We both catch 5/2 on a Witch board. I think the difference here was that I picked up a couple early Treasuries to facilitate deckbuilding during the Curse fighting portion of the game, and monomandan overinvested in cards that slowed him down (Coppersmith, early Province). He also apparently pulled his Steward with his Witch a couple of times, which couldn't have helped.

ackack 40, monomandan 28

It's not obvious to me why this one ended up the way it did. While the final deck compositions were quite similar, I guess I had a better start. Wharf > Treasury as a first $5 here, I think, and I got pretty lucky with my early draws, allowing me to pull ahead in Bazaars and Shanty Towns to play the various terminals we had.

Thanks for the games Insomniac, and I'm really sorry for game 6 there, that's not really a good way to end a match series.

WallyNate vs. Hunting Party of One
4-1-1

Some close games, include one tie.  Thanks to Hunting Party of One for some fun games!

Game 1WallyNate 38 - 25 Hunting Party of One
Young Witch game with various trashing options.  I go Steward early and my opponent goes Salvager.

Game 2:  WallyNate 36 - 36 Hunting Party of One
Jack game where I go Upgrade to supplement, while my opponent goes with Saboteur.  We end up tying.

Game 3WallyNate 30 - 22 Hunting Party of One
Alchemist game where I use Apprentice to trash, whereas my opponent gets a trade route for trashing, and buys a few victory cards to get the value up.  I initially overlook the +buy on the trade route, so end up overpaying for one of my own near the end.  I don't think my late trade route made too much of a difference, though.

Game 4WallyNate 27 - 25 Hunting Party of One
I go for Young Witch and my opponent goes for Forging.  The forging does better than I thought it would, turning quite a few 4-cards into provinces, but I ended up pulling it off.

Game 5:  WallyNate 31 - 35 Hunting Party of One
Shanty Towns don't work very well with Embassies.  My opponent utilized the Remodels well.

Game 6WallyNate 34 - 26 Hunting Party of One
My opponent goes for pirate ships, and I go mostly BM/Witch.  We both use develop for a little trashing.  He got quite a few hits on me, but the big money won out.
