I'm making some assumptions about the scenario here such as this happening when its not your turn, which you weren't specific about. That's not relevant though, you can't do it on your own turn either for exactly the same reason. |

Striker feels a bit unrelated to Tongs. And honestly all the effects feel unrelated. Also Striker is a one-shot so it might be too weak. If Tongs provided a way to get a Striker repeatedly it would be fine, but as it is it feels like Tongs would be a better card without the Worker.

Quote Tongs $2+ Treasure Quote Striker $2* Worker Strikers are DoubleLab, how nice! Oh, wait, you do need to make sure there's no Victory cards in your hand after, otherwise you have to Bureaucrat all of them. Tongs are effective at grabbing things from your discard pile and putting them into your hand and onto your deck. Doesn't increase handsize but does give some control and weak trashing on the cheap. Overpay on Tongs to get some Big Ol Horses that really like Tongs |

No. Overlord is a normal action, and does not have any special rules that allow it to imitate the reaction of another card. It just so happens that the ability that happens when you play Overlord is to then play another action card from the Supply (this was a bit different in the original printing of Overlord, but that doesn't matter here). Overlord doesn't automatically "take on" the attributes of cards in the Supply, so you can only play it like normal when it is your turn and you have an action available.

Overlord doesn't have a reaction that lets you play it when another player gains a treasure, how are you going to play it as a Pirate?

If I have an Overlord in my hand and someone gains a treasure, Can I play the Overlord as a Pirate and play it immediately so I get a gold in my hand on my turn?
Could you please explain why or why not. |

Treasure - Duration - Attack You may discard a Silver or a Gold. If you do, each other player gains a Curse. At the start of your next turn, +2 Cards. Notes: It’s a Treasure so that you generally can’t inflict multiple curses with a single Silver or Gold. |

I came up with a card im happier with. IMO this version 4 is far too strong at $4: Whenever you have a Silver in your discard, Appraiser can be played as a Grand Market (minus the buy) plus a Fugitive, that's $7+ territory. When you have a Silver in hand instead, it's still effectively a Lab if you discard and play the Silver (since you save an Action by playing Silver with Appraiser). And since Silver is very strong (close to Festival) in Appraiser games, you will usually have several Silvers in your deck anyway. |
