In general it is anyone but the last two players. And you can't have the turn either side of a turn you've challenged.
It seems quite a stretch to make this work with just 4. Kind of hoping some other codenames stars would show up. joth, Swowl, faust are you interested?
And I can join in if people are ok with that?
I can poke Swowl and make him join.

I suppose if we are going the ruin(s) route we could also consider Cross, like a Cross to mark a grave.
Shed, parachute & candle aren’t everyday items. Yeah, you *could* ruin them (although in most of those cases “destroy” or “break” would be words I would associate before “Ruin”), but a Dress, like Pants or a Shirt, can be ruined by spilling coffee or tea, or by ripping, or by getting muddy etc. “My [article of clothing] is ruined!” is a pretty common thing to hear. “My shed/candle/parachute is ruined!” isn’t really.

I like Dress more than Trip specifically because it was not Ruin(s).
You can ruin your Figure.
Also a possibility, but I would put it behind Dress. I would be a coin flip between it and Trip if Dress were incorrect.

« on: February 09, 2022, 06:12:15 am »To resolve the challenge, Galzria and silverspawn need to PM scolapasta with the words which silverspawn selected and rejected on turn 4. (They must not include either Eagle or Revolution.) Then scolapasta needs to report results here.
Turn 5 can be taken by anyone other than silverspawn, Galzria or scolapasta (i.e. EFHW or someone new).
If someone takes turn 5 before scolapasta reports the challenge results, then that player could gain or lose a point for their guess.
Do I specify which I think were selected and which were rejected, or do I just list two words? Do I confirm/deny the choice of Silver with ‘Revolution’, or ignore the guess entirely?
I could say:
I intended {X, Y, Z},
or
Rejected/Selected {A, B},
or
Word Rejected {Q}, Word Selected {R}

So we're pretty split between {Link (Sausage), Crow (Meat), and Roll (Sausage/Meat)}. Honestly I'm good with any of them - we don't NEED to guess here (both teams have 2 words guessed with 1 outstanding), but I feel like we should - it's early enough and hopefully at worst we pull a Neutral.
My only hesitancy with Link would be the bodyguard connection to Zelda (which for sure some of us would make more naturally than others here) - although I think it's more likely that their last word is Star than Link.

I just think it's the strongest connection of our choices - Like, I would've gone with it over Curry (although Curry would've been my third preference).
Beyond the saying "Eat Crow" - Crow is actually not a horrible meat - it's generally safe to consume and is like eating any other dark meat bird (I mean, Duck/Turkey will have a lot MORE meat - but it's fairly similar). It's also extremely commonly eaten in a lot of fantasy stories around campfires (like rat).
When I look at the board for connections to "Meat", I just think Calf & Crow are the most obvious two to me.

That said, "Meat Roll" might be a thing that I'm not super familiar with. It actually sounds like a thing that would be popular in the UK and not in the US. I think "Meat Pie" certainly is - and it could be another phrase for the same.

Still, Curry-Calf-Link seems like the best bet to me.
I think Crow & Calf - then a third. Crow Meat is definitely a thing.

Unfortunate - but your posting of this got both Swowl & myself into a two month grind on playing this, so still… thanks!
I'll be playing the .28 release tournament with Future Player Goats! (We're aligned with Future Player Ghosts, so our name is based on theirs.)
It’s really addicting! Neither of us, even fully delving into hardcore articles, were able to successfully clear it - although I believe Swowl got to retrieving the final piece and making his ascent, and I cleared all Orcs/Elves & associated other top level dungeons. Swowl found more success going Berserker & physical, I really enjoyed elemental with earth focuses.

I *really* wanted to reclue right back to “Rikers” after this. I didn’t see anything in the roles that said I couldn’t…. But I wasn’t sure and figured Swordsman would get there too (which it did!).

Normal games can be closed, so that's no issue. We don't really have rules for this sort of thing anyway, the classification is up to the mod.
I mean fair enough, and I really want any of them to run... they have just been sitting there for a while
Out of 4 bumped threads - 2 are "gauging interest", 1 is "sign-ups", and the other basically looks like "gauging interest and looking for feedback/balance"... but on top of that, not sure if any of the hosts/mods of those have even confirmed if they're still around and ready to run them.
Let's get something going, or I'll go into Mafia withdrawl.
This is pretty accurate. Until we get MOD confirmations from those hosting, we should get something else up —- unless faust is ready to go with BSG.
