Rules Questions / Possession/Outpost

I know, guys. Theres been a good many topics on this, but let there be one more.

If I play a Possession during a Possession hand (causing my opponent to take another turn with my cards) aan then play the Outpost, does it take effect? That would be causing my opponent to take more than one consecutive turn, which Outpost prohibits.

Kingdom: Apprentice, Cache, Chapel, Festival, Mining Village, Scheme, Sea Hag, Stash, Tunnel, and Wishing Well

So after the Curses were trashed, I trashed my deck down to a bunch of Stashes, Wishing Wells, and Schemes. My deck was so miniscule, I was able to reshuffle a lot. The Withing Wells helped me get the necessary cards for province seeing that I know where the Stashes are. Is there some better strategy here?

Any players? I am on Chess.com (username=Morgrim7), and am nowhere near being a master, but I'm striving hard to become one. Don't have an official FIDE rating, (never been to any official tournaments) but I love the game almost as much as Dominion.
Bet there's lots of chess players here; this place being so analytical and all.

I went for Hamlet/Library, and even though I won, I feel like I made some mistakes. Maybe Embargoing Tunnels? And not picking up some for myself?

I like so many before me, am leaving the forum. Not for good, I might come back, and ill lurk for a bit...but yeah. I'll finish modding my game, and finish playing my other game, but I am going to start posting a lot less. Its been fun guys, but this is becoming a huge time sink.

Just a thought I had...make the game faster by dividing the quantity of the piles in half, so there would be 4 Provinces Duchies, Estates, ect. Curses and Ruins would stay the same, though I don't know why that would be a problem because if you wanted a fast game why did you put in cursers in the first place... anyway, just an idea if anyone wanted to play a really fast game IRL.

It is simple: Buy lots of Foragers, (and preferably a drawing card) and trash some coppers. When your deck kicks in, foragers will be worth 4/5, you will have an abundance of coppers to trash, (extra buys from forager) and lots of money, buying probably at least two provinces every turn.

Instead of playing with ten cards, take the randomizer deck from the seven (eight) expansions, and play with those. That way, the game is swingy and appealing if you have nothing to do. It involves much less strategy, but looks fun. Has this been discussed before? Has anybody tried it?

Dominion General Discussion / Dominion lessons

Recently I have started to give lessons to two of my sisters. This is assuming they know Basic Big Money, th benefit of trashing, and can normally pick out a decent BM/X strat and play it out. Be sure they are completely confident and comfortable with Dominion before trying this.
Here they are:
Lesson one: Engines. Introduce basic engines, and set up a board from Base only that contains base only. The board must also contain these cards: Council Room, Smithy, Village, Festival. Ask them to find the sources of +Actions an +Cards, and explain to them a +Cards and +Actions engine. Tell them to play this engine. Also tell them that you will play Smithy BM and carry it out. Let them win at all costs.

Lesson 2: Engine helpers. Set a more complex board, containing these cards: Border Village, Wharf, Peddler, TR or KC, Courtyard, and Worker's Village. Review last lesson. Ask them to find the +Cards and +Action on this board. Explain to them how some cards can help this engine, and see if they can find them (Peddler and TR/KC are the helpers). If they can, have them do a Border V. Wharf engine with Peddlers and TR/KC. Tell them you will play Wharf BM, and carry that out. Let them win.

Lesson 3: VP rushes. Same technique, have them do Workshop/SR or Gardens while you do BM X. This time, though, do not tell them what strat you will play.

Keep going on, introducing more decks and how to build them. Eventually, stop choosing the inferior strat, do not tell them what strat to play, and start going harder and harder.

Dominion Articles / Combo: Haggler/Vineyard

Found this interesting when playing against an opponent a little while ago. The point of this combo is to use Hagglers to gain a bunch of cheap actions, increasing the value of Vineyard. Villages and Cantrips are best, but terminals will do. Another thing nice about this combo is that the Hagglers make it really easy to gain Potions and other Hagglers.

Mafia Ruleset (blatantly stolen from [This time Captain_Frisk] Axxle, as always)

Game Rules:

General Gameplay and Etiquette:
1. You may not quote private Moderator-supplied information (either real or fabricated) of any kind. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable.
2. There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM specifically allows it. Mafia members may communicate at night and during the confirmation stage.
3. If you have a role with a Night action your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline you will forfeit your actions. In case of multiple submissions, the last valid one before the deadline will be used.
4. Roles with Night actions will not be able to submit an action on Night 0 (i.e. during the confirmation stage).
5. Any player with a Night action may instead submit a “No Action” PM to let the Mod know that you do not want to perform your expected action that Night phase.
6. As a general rule you should aim for one post every 48 hours, minimum, to keep the game moving.

Voting, Deadlines, and Player Death:
1. A simple majority (rounded up) of all living members must agree on one person for a lynch to occur prior to deadline. Maybe.
2. Once you have reached a simple majority no further unvoting will change someone’s fate. Further votes will also be ignored. Maybe.
3. Once a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; all players including the one who was lynched may continue to post during twilight.
4. Please submit votes as: Vote: PlayerName. Votes will NOT be counted if they are not bold! Obvious abbreviations or nicknames will be counted so long as they are unambiguous.
5. Please submit vote revocations as either Unvote: PlayerName or Unvote. Unvotes are not necessary before changing votes.
6. You may NOT Vote: No Lynch - a simple majority of these vote types are required to send the game to Night phase without a lynch.
7. This game will have 7-Day day deadlines, with 48 hr. night deadlines. If a player or No Lynch does not have a simple majority at Day end, no lynch will occur, and the game will go into night.
8. Once you are killed (either via lynch or night kill) you may no longer post. This means that you do not even get a “Bah” post. The dead in this game are silent. This rule is now in effect, unless otherwise noted in PM.
9. Do not edit or delete posts. We don't want some players having more information than others.  If you want to clarify posts, feel free to double post.
10. You may NOT ignore rule 8 - even if you aren't in the game

Miscellaneous/Mechanics:
1. Bold, blue text is reserved for the Mod. No invisible/small text is allowed, nor is cryptography.
2. If you have an issue/problem with the game, please PM the Mod privately. Do not post issues/complaints in the game thread.
3. The Mod may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.
4. Please bold all requests to the Mod so that they don’t get missed.
5. Prods of missing players will be issued automatically after 72 hours of no activity or upon request after 48 hours of no activity. A prodded player has 48 hours to respond or risks replacement. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to replacement without further notice. This rule is also now in effect. I will try to find replacements. If none can be found, you wil ba modkilled.
6. Rule violations will be dealt with according to their severity, up to and including a Modkill.
7. If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.

New Rules:
1. PM me a Dominion card. I will decide your role by reading that card.
2. I may send you a PM saying that card is used already. PM me another.
Will begin when any other mafia game ends.
