Mind you, "cards that let you play cards outside of their intended phase" has been in the game for a very long time; Black Market was one of the earliest cards released.

Conclave doesn't stay in play if a Duration is played by it, no. Cards only stay in play with the Durations they played if either (a) they replayed them (using the keyword "replay") or (b) they played them more than once.

Rules Questions / Re: Weaver

Yes, for a long time the lose-track rule (or stop-moving rule) was: If a card is lost track of, it can't be moved (but it can still be played). But in 2021 a new rule was added: If a card is lost track of, it can't be played either - with the exception that Throne Room variants can replay it. So if you Throne Room a Mining Village and trash the Mining Village the first time you play it, you can still replay it. The new rule mainly limits interactions with Faithful Hound and Vassal, Village Green and Vassal, and discarding several Village Greens. Trail and Weaver work the same as Village Green.
Of course, if you're discarding several Village Greens in practice, what you'll probably do is activate the "play next turn" option with some of them rather than forcing a lose-track, but the option is there.

Workshop and friends suddenly like Port a lot better.

Plus how the hell is Bureaucrat banned more than Margrave?  That's absurd.
Everybody has access to Bureaucrat's expansion, all the time. The same is not true of Margrave.

(I'm guessing there are quite a lot of people on free accounts whose ban list reads {Witch, Bandit, Militia, Bureaucrat}.)

Festival/Library is a good engine, yes. (And yes, it's been known since Base Game 1.0 days.)

58
Rats isn't trash-for-benefit, either (the "benefit" is completely independent of what card you actually trash), but it's a trash-for-benefit enabler.

Villa + cost reduction is fun times in general. I remember one game where Villa, Quarry and Pathfinding were all present, and I was the first to get two Quarries in the same hand. By the end of that turn, my deck was now full of Bazaarkets.

60
You should, by the way, usually be willing to discard Gold to a Stables if the average card in your deck is better than a Copper. Which it tends to be except right at the start of the game.

61
Stables I rarely discard a silver with it and I have never discarded a gold with it. Just because you have doesn’t mean I will. And so that leaves copper. Besides if you had a copper and a silver in your hand it’s not like your going to choose to discard the silver over the copper anyways. No because that would be foolish. Which proves my point stables is better off as a copper strategy. Simply because it’s the better treasure to discard.
Copper is the better treasure to discard there, yes, but not because it's any better intrinsically in that role - all treasures are equal there - but because it's really bad in any other role.

(This is also, incidentally, the reason a lot of local club chess is played on weekday evenings. It's not that weekday evenings are especially well-suited to local club chess, rather that they're really bad for any other form of competitive OTB chess.)

62
Trader getting swapped out for a blue dog would be very appropriate.

63
I suppose there is the option of bringing in eight Events, one of them a reskinning of Cache. Not very likely, I'll admit, but possible.

It's part of a standard recommendation: don't put cards with setup instructions in the Black Market deck unless that setup instruction is already included in the kingdom.

I think I'd usually rather have Ironworks than Artist, but I'm not sure one is particularly stronger than the other in the general case; $4 looks about right for that card.

"Monkey Tactician"
Speaking of, this was a fun little moment. Can y'all see the play?
Ha, nice. Tactician as Monkey, Gold-Silver-Scepter, replay Tactician, this time as itself.

Rules Questions / Re: Sorcerer attack with empty deck
« on: May 23, 2022, 01:36:28 pm »
My interpretation:

"If wrong" on Sorceror means "the card on top of your deck is a card that is not the named card".

"Otherwise" on Giant means "it is not true that the card on top of your deck costs $3-$6".

Just played a game where I managed to get all ten Grand Markets. (My opponent seemed to be unaware of how strong Lurker is in combination with it.)

So if I blockade Curses, and an opponent does something to gain a Curse on their own turn, they would trigger a cascade of gaining the entire Curse pile. Is that correct?

If it is... are there any interesting edge cases where this (either Blockading curses, or gaining a curse when they're blockaded) is something that might strategically make sense? The latter I think is believable enough if it lets you 3 pile, but what about cases where the opponent wasn't just being stupid by Blockading Curses and you still want to gain all the curses anyway?
Watchtower + Tomb is the obvious one, but there are probably others.

Absolutely. There's only 2 reasons things should ever be considered for removal. The card is so weak that it just never gets bought by anyone other than complete beginners, and those beginners end up losing because they bought the card. Or the card has an issue of being too confusing or long to resolve in which case it's replaced with a better version of the same thing.
There's also "this card dominates in an unfun way when it's present", but Prosperity doesn't really suffer from that - King's Court and Goons may be dominant cards, but they make for interesting deck-building decisions.

Ambassador/Wild Hunt. For when you want a clay-court game.

Well, why not. Let's try to sharpen up my skills.

I do appreciate that the AI has produced a Scout that is more interesting and more likely to be bought than the real Scout.
