Artificer/Trail. On-discard and on-gain bonuses.

27
The big issue here is Possession, where one player buys a card and a different player gains it.

Oooh, I've just thought of another fun Moat v Ways effect. You play an Attack, I Moat it, you then decide to use Way of the Mouse; the Mouse card is Duchess. Do I get to do the deck-inspection thing?

Well, the main place you want it is decks where Silver is going to be a better-than-average card. So: money decks, slog decks, Feodum decks.

Other than that: Quarry can be a decent card to gain with it.

I can come up with a "solution" of sorts: each card intrinsically has its native instructions and its shadow instructions (swapping round +Card and +Coin), the latter of which can only be accessed via Way of the Chameleon. Playing Moat protects you against both the native instructions and the shadow instructions.

Mandarin + Endless Chalice, which is the sort of thing that makes you realize why Mandarin is a deprecated card.

Landing Party/Reap. Why yes, I will topdeck all my Landing Parties thanks to this Gold I'm playing in start-of-turn.

Inherited Rebuild. Now there's a time you may want to replace a Copper.

@ Donald X.
In the explanation of Pious you mention "...you also get to trash a card from your hand.", but the card text says "may trash".
Does this mean that there maybe was a previous test version which said "obliged trash"? Or did you just made a mistake in the explanation?
I think you may be misunderstanding "get to"; it typically means "may" rather than "must".

36
Well, the obvious Siren combo is with Fortress.

Although there's nothing to stop such a card existing. This is a perfectly rules-legal card:

Night Golem
Night - $4
Reveal cards from your deck until you reveal two Night cards. Put them into your hand, then discard the other revealed cards.

(It's not a very strong card, because by the time it's played, you've probably drawn most of your deck anyway.)

38
Nah, make the mouse card Fool. That adds an heirloom to your hand and Will-o-Wisp to the non-supply piles.

This chain of reasoning also works in exactly the same way for Poor House.

Platinum's good, but it's not that good.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: What cards do you ban and why?
« on: August 11, 2022, 05:05:45 am »
Possession is, I think, a card where I'd like a specific ban list that only applies to games featuring that particular card. (Way of the Horse, Way of the Butterfly, Ambassador, Masquerade are, I think, the main offenders.)

Heh, the AI creates a card that is strictly better than Woodcutter and yet probably not overpowered. Nice.

43
One that doesn't draw cards.

Ave Caesar, morituri te salutamus

I'm nothing interesting. A vanilla townie.

My read on MiX is that he is giving off town vibes, but I don't know how accurate that read is.

46
There's always a case for Jack, to be fair. I have no confidence in my ability to make reads and therefore very rarely make them.

47
It's strong, but it's not particularly nasty (you're just getting lots of extra turns for yourself rather than doing damage to your opponent).

I've had Possession/Way of the Horse. Now that one is nasty.

48
Lots of discussion happened while I was asleep. Let's poke a fellow lurker to see what gives.

Vote: WCD

I hadn't thought of vigilantes being negative utility, but it makes sense: they're essentially an exile of an arbitrary player, and such a player is more likely to be town than scum.

50
Saboteur, but that's long gone from the canonical sets. And various tricks with cost-reduction.
