I'm looking to sell my copies of the cards that got the axe in the Second Editions.

https://boardgamegeek.com/geekmarket/product/1025373

edit: alternatively, I am listing the cards in the October '16 US shipping Math Trade on BGG - https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/215629/october-16-us-math-trade?titlesonly=1

Do you still have these cards? I want them (if you're not charging too much and they're in mint or near mint condition).

I do still have the cards. I think it was about a month after I got Dominion before I started sleeving, and I think I got Intrigue around that same time. So the Dominion cards probably have a little more wear on them than the Intrigue ones. I'm out of town right now, but I could share some pics when I get back this weekend if you'd like.

Of course three-card interactions are potentialyl useful, the potential is just lower

And learning of a specific three component interaction can point to other three component interactions; the one that started this little discussion was Palace + Masterpiece + Soothsayer. Another more broad interaction can be extrapolated from this: I would definitely say Palace + Silver gainer + Gold gainer is "potentially useful", especially when one of the gainers is non-terminal.

RE: http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=16817.0

Being able to record macros would be cool. You click record, do some things, then hit stop once you've done all the steps you want to repeat. Then there's a button you click once to replay the whole sequence of events.

For the Highway/Goons/Forum/Trader example wero gives, the macro would only have these steps:

1) buy Forum
2) reveal Trader to (attempt to) gain Silver instead of Forum

Maybe there would be a button to repeat the macro 10x, or maybe even an input box where you could repeat the steps some number of times.

I think it wouldn't need infinite combos to be useful, it could also be useful for sequences like

1) play Village
2) play Smithy

Where you know you probably want to play Village+Smithy as much as possible, and why not play those cards by clicking once instead of clicking twice, especially since the locations of the two clicks could be changing position as the cards in your hand change.

And if the macro hit an instruction that it couldn't repeat, eg it plays a Village, but then you don't have a Smithy in hand, it would stop executing after the last successful action. This partial execution could of course be problematic in some situations if you are mistaken about how many times you can repeat a chain of actions, which is why this would be an "advanced user", use-at-your-own-risk feature.

Clearly this is a low-priority, "wouldn't that be neat" kind of feature but this thread seemed like the place to post this idea.

Back in January, I did a little shell scripting and got (I believe) all the art downloaded. Guess I need to go get Guilds now, and maybe use all those images for...something.

I've received multiple requests for the images I mentioned here. I think all the images I have are on the wiki, but here's this: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1qTpXqWjW9sTk5NbkxiUUpjOVU

Some players like to play with 2-3 sets instead of full random; I like the idea but always have trouble deciding which sets should be used.

A mode where the kingdom is selected by first selecting 2-3 sets, then mixing all of their cards together, could be cool. So before the game you just know you're playing with "limited random"; you don't know what sets will be used, you just know it won't be more than 3 when you get to the kingdom.

I removed the downgrade pack from the Geek Market. The moderator of the Math Trade I linked to, BentlyCash, is planning on running a US shipping Math Trade every month until he gets sick of it. I'm going to try to trade away the cards rather than selling them.

To get notified of when a new Math Trade is being run, subscribe to this thread on BGG - https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/218951/math-trade-announcements-thread/

Dear opponent,

I definitely feel some guilt over my game 7 tournament win. I was first player on a board with Goons, King's Court, Council Room, Plan, and honestly I overlooked it before turn 1, Fishing Village. You outplayed me for the first few turns, but after I was the first to get 2 King's Courts, on the first turn I connected them with a CR, I hit exactly enough buys to empty a second pile and buy out the Curses. Crazy finish to a fun, tough series.

Surprised no one has put Black Market and Crown together. Crowning a Black Market while buying from another Black Market seems like one of the best tracking nightmares available.

I seem to remember a thread about this, but I don't remember what the ruling was

- Play Black Market, get $2, reveal 3 cards from the BM deck (set A)
-- play a Crown
--- play Black Market, get $2, reveal 3 new cards (set B)
---- play other treasures in your hand for $
---- buy (or not) a card from set B, lose (or not) some $, return set B to the bottom
--- play Black Market a second time, get $2, reveal 3 new cards (set C)
---- play other treasures in your hand for $
---- buy (or not) a card from set C, lose (or not) some $, return set Cto the bottom
-- play other treasures in your hand for $
-- buy (or not) a card from set A, lose (or not) some $, return set A to the bottom

For added fun, replace any of the "other treasures for $" with "more Crowns, Black Markets, and Storytellers".

edit: also I think Villa is a nice fit for a nightmare intro kingdom.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: New first game engine?

The first game engine strategy is only optimized against Smithy BM though, right? Surely the mirror plays out differently.

IIRC the bot I made (that had the highest win % in Geronimo's article) was only optimized against straight BMU.

edit: heh, apparently my memory is not very trustworthy.

As for Intrigue, Patrol is quite the Scout buff. It seems kind of strong actually. Also, I'm surprised get another Smithy variant since Envoy was removed for that reason.

Envoy's not from Intrigue, it wasn't removed from anything.

I graduated with a CS degree 2 years ago and started at 60k. I probably could have made more if I had gone into the public sector, but I pretty much kept the job I got as a student at the university.
