Silver is surely better, because it gets you the money earlier and won't miss as many shuffles.

The caveat is that if your opponent's strategy relies on them getting all the Fishing Villages you may want to nab one or two to slow them down.

I'd be interested to know people's thoughts.
I haven't thought in depth about it, but my guess is it would be very strong.
Would it be better to make playing an Action/Treasure from Exile compulsory whenever it's possible?

Actually I'd better sit out for a round, as I'm VLA next week and there seems a reasonable chance it wouldn't finish until then.

Yes, my double-6 meant that your run of 4 gave me lots of info. But once you'd chosen that colour question, it was hard for me to find out anything more, because all the other questions were about numbers.

Good game though, it is amazing how quickly the info all comes together.

I also didn't have enough info to distinguish between the two possibilities for EFHW... except that one of them gave her enough info to guess with certainty and the other she'd have only had a 33% chance of being right. So I assumed the former.

What is the sum of your 3 leftmost tiles?

The only issue I can think of would be someone could choose to infiniteley play Shoppers over and over, usually [always?] uselessly, once you get a second one in play.  Any wording suggestions that fix this without adding much text? I thought about turning them sideways once they've been played by a shopper, but it sounded awkward. "Replay a Shopper that hasn't been replayed this turn" sounds okay, but it's still kinda long, and it sounds potentially hard to track if you have a bunch of these in play.
Playing them infinitely isn't useless if you have adventures tokens on them, so you probably do need a way to prevent that.
I think the simplest way would be to reword the whole card: "If you have another Shopper in play, gain a card costing up to $5. Otherwise, gain a card costing up to $4." But sadly that would no longer meet the rules of this contest!

Folly
$1 Action

+1 Action
Trash a card from your hand.
----
In games using this, directly after you finish playing an Action card from your hand, you may gain a Folly, then play it.
FAQ:
  • If you gain a Folly using the below-the-line effect, you then play it from your discard pile, moving it into play. This is not playing it from your hand, so you do not get to do the below-the-line effect again.
  • If something causes the Folly to move when you gain it (eg you topdeck it or trash it with a Watchtower), then the instruction to play the Folly will fail.

In the same vein as Duchess, and company for Poor House at $1.
Yes, this is crazily good with Way of the Horse, but otherwise, Folly might be a good idea at the time you get it, but not so good once you have it in your deck.

We could reconstruct the game at any time, though, because we still have the randomization information for the original. I didn't do that this time, but I could have. I also noticed that the questions didn't get randomized. But that's ok since it's our first game. Maybe keep a record of what questions you have asked.

I could in the future send the link when we have players and just change it each time. Spectators could have it, too.
Another solution is all players could take their own copy of the spreadsheet when the game starts. (I've taken a copy of this one now.)

Second question:
Name your contiguous locations with consecutive numbers

It looks like someone redid the setup. That's ok, but make sure you have the right tiles noted. Keep same player order.
Ok, yes, it has changed! Noted down my new numbers.
With the public link, I guess anyone could meddle and change it any time. Should we keep our own records of the available questions also, then we can continue the game even if it gets changed again?
Hmm, just noting it all down isn't enough is it - if someone re-randomises then the concealed tiles change, which ruins it.
So either we need a mod, or a private copy of the spreadsheet available to players only. Or trust that no-one will ruin our game accidentally or intentionally!

This looks cool. Is it something one could follow/spectate very well if they’ve never played before?
Spectating, you can choose how much info you want to know! No info, or all info, or from one player's viewpoint.
