And the timing, if this promotion of the other woman just happened, is kind of a "smell me" message too, which is poetic.

After the promotion went to someone else, my wife's boss approached her with some questions.  Nuh-uh, lady. You don't get to promote someone else and pay her more money and then ask my wife questions. That's why you promoted her instead of my wife. And when your response is that you don't want to overwhelm her, then perhaps you should reconsider why you chose to promote her if she's not capable.
GOOD for your wife.  That kind of behavior irks the shit out of me.

I am very sad and feeling very old.  I just found out that Chris Squire died a few days ago.  Such a giant, physically and musically.

In unrelated news, my parents are going South for the weekend. They expect temperatures of 44ºC during the day. That's just ridiculous for the beginning of July.

That's ridiculous for any time of the year.  Like, that's literally a temperature that most humans can't actually deal with.
That is way hot.  I've only experienced as high as 41.6 C (117 F), several times in Las Vegas.

Has anyone here asked Siri what 0 divided by 0 is? It's hilarious.

I don't have an iPhone, could someone tell me what happens?
Ah, now I know you weren't referring to some viral video about Tom Cruise's daughter in first grade math or something.

(I have an Android.)

I think the key (no pun intended) in your observation is that she shut down. Maybe out of overwhelm, but maybe out of closed-mindedness, which might mean you had no chance of reaching her to begin with.  You can lead a horse to water....

That's why you'll notice global warming is not such a popular expression anymore, it had faded out in favor of "climate change", which is a much better descriptor anyway.
In the State of Florida, the governor has forbidden state employees from using the terms "global warming" and "climate change".  But the sand in Florida is warm, so sticking your head in it shouldn't be problematic.

And yes, I was being arch with my earlier post.

I just saw Victoria. It's unfreakingbelievable, absolutely amazing. One of the most thrilling movies I've ever seen.
A single take that lasts 140 minutes!?  That's impressive in its own right.

Good thing we don't have to worry about global warming.

So, barely a week later, and apparently this expansion has been cancelled?  Any word on if any resolution has been reached between DXV and Queen Games?

The resolution is that Queen has lost the rights to publish Marshlands; they let the contract expire. Donald has decided not to sign a new contract at this time.
A contract with an expiration date.  What a concept.  Wonder if Jay put one of those into the Goko/MF contract.

I can't imagine

That's a rather elegant summary of the whole fiasco.

"This is the story of the starship GokoMF.  It's 5-year mission..."

Where are we now, year 3?  I guess the burn rate of cash is really low, or somebody has deep pockets and a forgiving nature.

Might want to tell someone about the roof leak.

The ceiling is very unstable. Actually, that's Ceiling Cat breaking through from above.
Then it's likely to happen again from the corner in the background.

Well, it's masochistic to like 6-player Dominion games.

And it's sadistic to like making 5 other people also play a 6-player Dominion game.

Hence the BDSM. A lot of expected connotations to get the joke, probably was unfair.

2/20 would not make joke again
110 is less dangerous.  Especially if there are liquids around.

There is a group already doing that, at least according to their name.

That could not have possibly sat well with their stomach.

...I just realized, just now, that this was a pun.  Wow.

Gags that don't stand out are the best.

See, now I'm trying to decide if "stand out" is a pun because they no longer have a chair.
That doesn't matter.  We still have Tables.

Did you randomly upvote me again!?
That was me.

Or not.

Meaning, if it was me, it wasn't random, as I just upvoted multiple posts on merit, while getting caught up.
So if I upvoted one of yours, it wasn't random.  I just can't remember if one of the posts I upvoted was yours, hence the "or not".
And the period outside the quote marks.

Tonight I watched Exodus with Christian Bale.

Oh, you know him?
Well if by "know" you mean "sat behind him in the theatre occasionally clipping hair samples during the noisy parts of the film" then yeah.

There were cameras INSIDE the theater!?!?!?

And you missed the more obvious joke, given the subject matter of the movie.

                                                                                Moat

I say "can-trip", but I still got the joke.

It's a stretch for me too, but you can slur anything if you go a little fast.

Be careful going fast; you might trip.

I was once in a band that we named Slow Children At Play, and our marketing materials had the street sign with the children icons on it.  We had been rehearsing a few weeks when there was a disagreement about the name.  Several of us thought it was read as:
Slow, Children at Play (as in "drive slower, there are kids around").

The others thought it was self-deprecating humor:

Slow Children, at Play.

We changed the name of the band.

When I weighed myself on Friday, for the first time in about 40 years the first number I looked at was a "1".  I have now lost 90 pounds (41 Kg) from my lifetime high.

Saw the end hour of Looper on tv last night. The best part was the design of the semi futuristic elements mixed with current infrastructure. The ultra thin phones, flowery toichscreens for stuff. It was very watchable.
I watched this last week, and also thought it was well done.

Tonight I watched Exodus with Christian Bale.  Pretty cool special effects.
