So by some sort of consensus, almost everybody thinks that either Mountebank or Cultist is the best. How do you guys counter them when they are on the board (apart from just getting them yourself)?

Don't know about other places, but in the official play dominion app/program/website, the ai's love minion megaturns, and I tend to agree.
The AI bots are ludicrously weak and easy to beat, and getting strategy ideas from Bots is not a recommendable idea.
Excuse me for not being an expert player then. And my love for minion megaturns is not because I got it from the bots, I had been doing that IRL long before I discovered the website. Thanks for ruining my self-esteem, by the way.
Minion is a good attack, personally my least-favorite to play against, but it is not quite on par with some other attacks, in my opinion.

I've always been interested in feodum (from Dark Ages), so I'd like to see a kingdom with the following four cards:
Feodum, Masterpiece (from Guilds), Trader (from hinterlands), Bureaucrat
The other six don't really matter.

I can tell you that Bureaucrat also does not matter in that setup - it's just so slow compared to Masterpiece. And Trader is not very important either, though maybe you could get one. That board is pure Masterpiece-Feodum, unless there's something else really strong.

The Bureaucrat is for the attack, not as the fastest way to gain Silver...
Bureaucrat is a very weak attack. wachsmuth is right, Feodum/Masterpiece is the best here, bar Wharf or some killer attacks.

Btw, do you guys think Death Cart and Counting House are at all viable counters against Cultist/Mountebank respectively?

Cultist and Mountebank are the only real contenders here. Cultist ultimately junks faster and draws, which tends to be more devastating than Mountebank's double junk with money. Plus obviously the chaining thing. Cultist is too good.
There are only 10 ruins, plus they are not as bad as curses. Cultist does junk fast, but the ruins do run out eventually. Mountebank rarely runs out of coppers.

Then again, I've only played for a few years, so I defer to you guys as to which is the best.  :)

The positive things I was going to say about Chancellor (like faster cycling) have already been said, so I'll just say more negative things. :)

So many cards, like Nomad Camp, Scavenger or Navigator, are terminal silvers with lots of other nice bonuses. Chancellor is so vanilla that it is eclipsed by any of the above cards if they are in the same kingdom.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, I'm new to the forums, but I wanted to see what cool kingdoms people have come up with. I'll get the ball rolling, here is my favorite kingdom I've created.

Crossroads, Fool's Gold, Menagerie, Farming Village, Remake, Tournament, Silk Road, Hunting Party, Jester, Margrave.
Interesting. You definitely want an engine, but which one?
I found out that the best engine here was Margrave/Fool's Gold, but Hunting Party/Menagerie/Tournament had a good chance.

Minion is annoying. I've hated it ever since my friend made me discard my 10 card Tactician hand. Now I know the Tactician gives you those cards at the start of your hand. Oh well.  :-[

Vault is so much better because it gives you coins instead of cards. Coins guarantee something nice (In Vault's case, at least a gold) but cellar might just draw you worse cards then you started with. It can be nice with big hands, though.

Cellar works well with Counting House (not a great combo). It is also viable with both Menagerie and Hunting Party.
