Yeah, thought there might me a good comparison for a 5 non terminal mercury but I was to tired to think of it. Mercury B might work with an if you did clause.Asper made an updated version of jewler, which is the one I was reffering too.I didn't know update version exists. Where? Earns $3?It would be better as a non terminal 5 cost.It is almost always better than Band of Misfits if this is non-terminal. Too good, I think. Terminal Mercury is still one of the strongest 4-cost cards, I agree. I tried $5, P, none of them seemed attractive.
How about this one?QuoteMercury(C)
cost $4 - Action
Trash a card from your hand.
Gain a card costing up to $4.
Trash a card from you hand. If you did, gain a card costing up to 4 (3?) coins, putting it into your hand.
I'm a photoshop novice, and it seems like a pain to mess with all the coin symbols, fonts, and stuff when I'm doing it. Besides, I don't care as much about the look of the card. For someone who's better at photoshop (and cares more), go ahead and add them. Thanks!
About the art I chose: Wherever I could make it work with the card name, I chose photos taken by my dad on his travels for card art. And the photograph for the Trailblazer card was taken by someone else I know.
If people prefer other art, that's fine, I'm just happy to have people print & play with my cards.
My wife and I tend to play Colony-Platinum most of the time, in which Cloister seems a comparatively better buy. But that makes sense as an analysis in many Province games. Though of course it depends on the other card combos--TfB, alt-VP, and deliberate Cloister-chaining strategies.Cloister is a niche card. In the niches it excells, but usually it's a 6 cost duchy.
I thought Cloister and Sentinel were great as-is. (The only other ones you mentioned that I've played with are already on your great cards list.)Sentinel is kind of balanced, but I think it needs a bit more. It's a little bland for a 5. I'll try it in another game and see how it does. Cloister needs 2 shuffles to actually use it's ability. I think it should cost 4 and give 2 points. In the game I played it either never got trashed, or it got trashed and never reshuffled. Early game I'll almost always want gold or a power 6, late game cloister's about the same a duchy for all the good it will do you. I guess it's great in a platinum-platinum-woodcutter-cloister-cloister golden deck but still seems underused to me.
What's the point of the "Discard any revealed cards costing more than 7" thing on Ancient Temple? Was it meant as a boost, as a nerf, or is it just there to ensure it doesn't have too little text? It's an improved mock up of LibraryAdventure's card, ask him.
Oops, looking at barracks 1. As for the cost I must have uploaded the wrong version. Fix that in a bit.Just mocked up the original version of this card (Too lazy to do all the others). The only thing I changed was the cost which was reduced to 4. This should make for funner games.
I think you said this wrong. The cost in your card is $5, and the original cost is already $4.
Really? I guess I should have reaserched the subject more thuroughly. Sorry!Stockpile (drop the "when you play this" clause)
Nope! All Treasures that have an on-play ability use "When you play this". Check out Philosopher's Stone, Loan, Contraband, Venture, Bank, Horn of Plenty, Ill-Gotten Gains, Counterfeit, Spoils, Coin of the Realm, Relic, and Treasure Trove. Fool's Gold is the exception, but it's tight on space and it still has a phrasing that makes it clear the ability happens on-play.
Thanks again for testing so many of my cards! I'm glad you enjoy them (Floodgate, Fund, Auction, Convoy, General, Dignitary, and Stockpile).
Good ideas. Fortified village seemsvery niche though.Well, if all else fails, it is a village.
If I use the insert image button all I end up with is:How do you post a fan made card?
Upload it to imgur.
